Harry Buchanan’s Wednesday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on October 25, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 5 No. 8 Mustang Timmy and No. 3 All About Coal These all met last week with the 4 leading all the way. Not sure he crosses as easily this time but he’s promising. The 8 put in a luckless effort and will go better here with a clear run. Would prefer him drawn in but there could be trouble here and he can capitalise. As can the 3 who made up many lengths in the same race. Copped a bit at box rise so can slot in behind early and figure with a clear run. Good race. Race 6 No. 2 Zen On and No. 8 Happy Quinn The 2 is a little underrated I think. Starting to put things together and could step into a spot here. Runs home well. The 8 could swish over and she’s still racing without luck. If she does cross and find the arm, they won’t catch her and she should be a price. Race 7 No. 8 Victory Road and No. 6 Pea Pettigrew The 8 showed a dazzling turn of acceleration after box rise last week to lead throughout. Racing well and box no concern here and goes close with a good step. The 6 ran 2nd to him and he did come out running off a wide draw to win a few starts back. If he does that again he can threaten the 8 a bit more this time. Save there. Race 8 No. 4 Joe The Lion and No. 7 Whiskey On Rocks A mad charge for the lead here. Would love to see Joey in box 4 hop on to the fence and take a run here. He wants to get middle track after that so will need to do it quickly. Can figure here as can the 7 who just weaves her way through from anywhere most weeks. She doesn’t need the arm and will be strong late. Race 9 No. 3 Speedy Willow and No. 7 City Cowboy The 3 only has to pounce on the arm here and she’s off and gone. They won’t catch her if she leads this and she has good box speed so an unusual bad beginning is the only thing stopping her. The 7 will go fast early here. He is capable of getting across and if he happens to cross the 3 he then becomes too hard to run down. They have it between them with their best steps but the 3 has the box advantage and goes on top. Race 12 No. 5 Calico Joe and No. 4 Really Surprised The 5 is one good step away from putting these to the sword. Racing well despite his last effort and will go close here if he hops out. The 8 a smokie’s show and can stick on in this company. Can also step from time to time so don’t dismiss him here for a small save each way. Market Market
