Harry Buchanan’s Sunday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on August 13, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 2 No. 3 Early Worm Back to her usual walk out start last week before weaving through the field again to finish off well. Much harder than what she faces here, and this is more her go. Can step but being enigmatic, trust is needed but she can also come from the back. Place heavy play. Race 3 No. 2 Pad Up Declan Last chance to break his maiden. With the red out and no reserves, he can find the arm and he trials better than what these can run so there will be no excuse. Simply has to lead and should get it done from there if he does. Race 4 No. 6 Muka Mayhem and No. 1 Small Demeanour The 6 is the blowout of the day here. Box is the only issue but if she finds one of her better steps, she can muster up and put herself in this up the back and she will shock the life out of these. The 1 is the dog to beat, especially if he hops out quickly. Only has to lead to be the one to beat and has the draw to do that. Save on him. The 6 can be the play EW. Race 5 No. 8 Commander Mack Well he’s got his box again and it’s down to the start. He just needs to step. Still has that acceleration but slow beginnings have left him too much to do in a short time. Even if he steps with them here, he will light them up out wide and find the top. If he finds that top, they will find him in the wash bay after that. This has to be it. Race 8 No. 8 Split Decision and No. 6 Wild Amigo The 8 again gets his box. Good effort last week making sustained ground off a steady start and he can step better. Will sweep up and run into this into the back. Good show. The 6 could surprise here. Has speed on his day and while he lacks a little commitment sometimes, he does have a good record track and trip. One at odds EW. Race 9 No. 8 Halcyon Days Clearly the best dog in the race and his effort last time over the short trip was excellent. Can show up early or come from off them. Will rush up out wide and traffic is his only concern here with some of these not running much time. Looks ready to win and this is his chance. Top 2 player. Race 11 No. 2 Kid Kimetto Was just unlucky to run into Nitro Jet on the arm last week. Stuck to his guns well though and only has to cross the red early to hold a forward spot and he keeps on coming. Can lead or come from behind and is priced and boxed to play EW here. Race 12 No. 2 Payakaroon Enigmatic but fast. Gets a great map here with the red going fast and the 3 getting off first turn. Just needs a clean step and muster up and he can put himself into a striking spot. Does have trick or two but if focus is on, so is the win. Best chance to win back at Cannington and coming off a strong Northam win. Can get it done. Market Market
