Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on July 22, 2023July 22, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 2 No. 3 Victory Road and No. 4 West On Nugget The 3 is drawn to get the run here. Speed off the 1 and nothing early from 2 sees him get right there with a clean step and that will make him the one to beat. The danger is in 4. Has any amount of talent and while he can be tardy early and gets wide but has a big engine and will be charging home here. Race 4 No. 6 Couch Surfer and No. 3 Sher Zany The 6 is the best stayer in the state, it’s as simple as that. They had their chance last week and couldn’t stop him and he is fitter again now. Box is sticky but he knows how to offset them. The 3 was good last week and will find more again here. Former VIC stayer who has strong middle and last sections and can run a race here EW. Race 6 No. 4 Lady Dior and No. 7 Indy Go Ruby The 4 is a huge show here and way way over the odds and goes close with any first turn luck at all. Has found form at the right time winning 1 and placing twice from her last 4 runs. Last start enormous from the back and sustained a good run home in a decent race. EW and place heavy again and at the odds, with a fair map as well, she’s the best play all night. A small spec on the 7 as well EW who is a silly quote and isn’t going as bad as it looks. Box is good here and she will go fast out wide. Don’t completely ignore her for exotics. It’s all about the 4 here to hit the frame if she can just secure the run early. Race 7 No. 6 Super Charge He’s flying presently and his effort two back was tremendous before being put out of business last week in a run that should simply be forgotten. Small field perfect and will start looking for his run up the back to charge over these. Expect him to go close here with a low to sub 30 run. Race 8 No. 2 Crypto Monelli and No. 6 It’s A Dime The 2 drops back from the staying trip and he will go well here. Can be a little touchy and hard to catch but his last few will stand him in good stead here. Has a fast win to his credit and small suits. Look for the 6 to go fast early and lead or settle forward and she only has to repeat her run from last week to go close again. Racing well and hard to stop here especially she finds the arm. Race 9 No. 4 Acing Kuna Promising middle distance type who was superb last start. Made monster ground from the back and gave some good dogs a lot of start and took plenty off them. This is a competitive 600 though and while the field is small, chances to almost all of them. She can hit top 2 here though however she can be a little clumsy so needs to handle herself better this week. Priced to play. Race 10 No. 4 King Tommy Should just win. Potential superstar who is starting dominate like the very good dogs do. Won as he liked last week waltzing past Flying Freda in fast time and only shocking bad luck can see him go under here. Race 11 No. 2 Stanga Storm Yet to win here but again boxed to give a sight and hit the frame. Had one job last week and couldn’t pull it off when stuck bumping the red while the leader skipped town. Should get a better run this time and will be looking to run into it sooner this time. Good EW show to take us out. THE MEADOWS Race 2 No. 7 Lornett Express and No. 1 Crackerjack Hawk The 7 can adapt better to this shorter trip than the fav with his early speed. If he gets over here he will take a stack of catching. Great record at the track and has won over this trip. The 1 has all sorts of ability and and while he is better off on the outside, he has two very steady early-splitters outside him. If he gets a little room he can stun these. Race 3 No. 6 Trending Yale Super run in a heat of the maturity. Came from a check early and back to work home hard to run 3rd in a strong effort. Rarely misses the frame around here and the smaller field suits. Any luck here into the back and she will descend again. Race 5 No. 1 Johnny Cool Boxed to go close here. Heat run was excellent and he is now 3rd back from a spell and will settle much more forward this time. Has a good record off the red where he is yet to miss the frame and he is a great EW bet. Race 6 No. 4 Boom Lateral and No. 6 Zambora Charlie The Fireball final. Even field of stayers. The 4 is the most enigmatic of all and he has been going superbly since he’s had a kennel change. Will go around at double figures and while he gets back and runs up to any dog as he pleases, it’s a worry once he gets there. Still a good place heavy play and will look ominous if his mind is on the job. The 6 is another rough chance here in the market yet his heat run was outstanding. He lost the first turn and then made up tremendous ground from the back to qualify. Don’t ignore him here. He could stun these and worth an EW play as well. Race 7 No. 4 Tan And Black Big big show here with any early luck. Took good ground off Minter Frost last week who has again won mid week at Sandown when he ran away from Yachi Bale. That alone is enough to get our attention. Box is tricky but he should find the fence quickly and be awfully hard to stop here. Race 8 No. 2 Tinker Norm and No. 5 Crackerjack Boom The Maturity Final and some big runs in the heats. The 2 was outstanding running down Transponder in his heat which is no easy feat. Gave him a few lengths into the back and descended on him late. Has a most consistent record and a huge amount of talent. Well drawn here to get the right run and can win and at least hit the frame. The 5 is very under rated. He has early burn and gave nothing else a chance in his heat. The box is the only reason he is the outsider her but don’t be fooled, he can come from off the arm as well. Worth a spec EW. The 2 is main go here. He’s a great EW shot. Race 9 No. 1 Raven Parrot Strong effort last start when not getting an early luck and and making late ground behind Hasko Bale here. Can step off this draw and hold a much more forward spot and will be coming hard late here again. Doesn’t want to be giving any start to a few of these but capable from this draw of winning. Race 10 No. 1 Belle Violin and No. 4 Shima Stella The 1 has his box now. Rarely misses the frame and this is much easier than his usual competition lately. Only has to hold the forward spot to be a force late. The 4 has been well backed from doubles and she is fast. Can be a little tardy early but has a motor and will be looking to storm into this up the back. Don’t dismiss here to hit top 2. Race 12 No. 2 Wrangler Jane Best roughie of the night. Doesn’t win many but has a big last section and has been racing far superior dogs to this. Will start her usual run up the back and will be surprising if she does miss the frame here. Place heavy player at the odds. WENTWORTH PARK Race 7 No. 5 Copious Big run last week when descending on quality opposition. Good strike rate and goes super around here. Box a bit tricky but has had a string of 7s lately so knows how to handle tough draws. Will again be strong home and should hit the frame. Race 8 No. 8 Father Rick and No. 3 Palawa King The 8 has his box here. Will rush down the outside to put himself in a forward spot and he keeps coming to the line. Watch the 3 descend late. Staying weapon who can sprint just as well. If he gets near them up the back he will take a lot of stopping. Race 9 No. 3 Tarawi Tiger Unlucky last week. Went to make a few runs and was held up several times. Should get a better run here and he can run time this bloke when he gets a look at the arm. Looks very hard to stop. Market Market
