Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on December 30, 2023December 30, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 2 No. 7 Ghost Emoji and No. 8 Storm Alert The 7 is one enigmatic engine. He brings the 4 cylinder out one week and does zip only to showcase the V8 the next week. Can drop serious sectionals from the middle on and a clear run is all he needs. The 8 needs to get his box manners sorted but he does get a nice run here. Can arrive earlier and that puts him in the frame here. Race 4 No. 2 Flying Freda and No. 4 Flashing Kuna The 2 got right on to the arm last week over the long trip and gave nothing else a chance. That could see her step well here and be very hard to stop if she leads. The 4 is hot and cold but if she hops out and gets there early, she could surprise in this. Dont dismiss. Race 5 No. 8 Penny Magic and No. 1 Fabs Max Potato Several hopes here. The 8 will dart across and look for the arm. Won’t take much to win from there so she will get her chance. The 1 could step up and hold early here. Another who won’t shirk the task in this if he gets near the front. No boomers from the back so early spots critical here. Race 6 No. 4 Sunset Louie Gets across to the fence early then it’s a matter of how many he has in front of him. Will charge through the middle and last section and take no end of stopping here with any luck. Race 8 No. 3 Bunji Man and No. 2 Aquila The 3 is airborne and has a great map here. Gets every hope to sit right up there and dish out his sub 30 run. The 2 is a little smokie and could stun here with first turn luck. A few wide runners give her every hope to show something. THE MEADOWS Race 1 No. 8 Ethanol Water and No. 2 Mepunga Reward The 8 was tragedy beaten last time. Should have won after being taken right off the track. Goes close in this. The 2 is a boom youngster. Can do anything at the moment and do it from anywhere in the run. Has a motor. Big show. Race 3 No. 8 Heffernan Bale and No. 6 Aston Luciano The 8 was good last week when making strong ground home. Can handle a wide box and a few want the arm here and he doesn’t. The 6 just has to offset the box and he’s a threat too. Versatile and will be powering home with a clear run. Hard to hold out. Race 4 No. 2 Andre Bale Last chance. Small field and box gives him no excuses here. Can lead or sit right up there and goes well around here. His best goes close and needs to bring it now. Race 6 No. 6 Aston Costello and No. 6 Dotty’s Gift The 8 will muster up quickly out wide. Just a matter of getting over before a lap to go. Will take some beating if he does. The 6 is a smokie who can improve here. She is very strong but needs a bit to go her way. Will run home hard if she’s close up the back. Each way prospect. Race 7 No. 1 Stella Girl Enormous effort in her heat. Made sustained ground from a mile back to go under by a short margin. Box brings her right into this. She can even lead on her day but just needs to be close to hit the frame. Race 8 No. 2 Camp Fire and No. 8 Amron Dan The 2 was superb again last week and gets a better draw this week. Starts his work up the back and keeps coming. Hard to stop again. The 8 will be equally hard to stop. Box isn’t great but he’s good in a field and just needs a little luck through the middle to be a late stage player. Race 9 No. 2 Aston Michigan and No. 3 Xile Bale The 2 was excellent last week. No luck getting across and had to be pushed back but made a long sustained charge to the line. Should have finished closer and gets a better map now. The 3 fell last start but he will be in this if he steps well. Has been plagued by bad draws and this is his chance now. Strong and can figure. Race 10 No. 6 Rachel’s Tears and No. 8 Orli Bale The 6 begins well but she lacks dash only to come again late over this trip. If she can get through the early section with little fuss she will be a sneaky hope at odds here. The 8 has a booming middle section but the very last bit can test and that may due to cramping issues by all reports. Has talent and can win again. Race 11 No. 2 Shima Deb The drop back to the sprint may not be that bad here. Can deliver huge sections through the middle and back and will be charging over these if she can stay close up the back. Place heavy player in this. Market Market
