Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on December 9, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 1 No. 6 Storm Alert Disappointing last week but he’s better than that. Small field suits and gets into the race strongly up the back which he should do sooner this time. Can atone for a top two play. Race 2 No. 8 Sunset Mirage and No. 6 Katchoo The 8 is the best boxed runner all night. Musters very quickly out wide and will give a huge sight on the arm should he find it. The 6 is the best of the run on dogs even with his tricks. Should he get into this through the back, he will take some holding out here. Race 4 No. 2 Columbus Monelli and No. 8 West On Boonie The Anniversary cup final. The 2 is an extraordinary each way price for the run he put in the heat. Well drawn here and will get a great run and charge into the frame with any luck. The 8 was outstanding in his heat and is perfectly boxed here. Made good ground from the back and can settle closer this week. Dont dismiss him. The 6 the one to beat and goes close if he repeats last weeks heat run. Great race. Race 6 No. 8 West On Nugget This is his chance to knock Couch Surfer over. Must jump and lead by the first turn or he will again have to do too much work out wide to take over. If he can cross and lead here before this turn comes up, he will take no end of catching. Race 7 No. 1 Turtle Fernando and No. 5 Escape Way The Dart final for the short coursers. The 1 won his heat off this box and is drawn to go well again. Stepped better and ran his best time and gets a good map with not too much pressure immediately outside him. The 5 has the most lethal turn of foot in the race, however his wide running antics cost him yet he still goes fast time. If he finds the arm early here, he will be very hard to stop. Several chances in the Dart with only 1 or 2 dogs who will struggle. Good final for the sprinters. Race 11 No. 2 Molfetta Drive The drop back from 600m a huge plus. Went ok over that trip but the small field and box here will see him very hard to stop. Can lob closer and will wind up strongly through the middle and home. Huge show to hit top two at least. THE MEADOWS Race 2 No. 2 Dewanna Sensation Very unlucky in her heat and is boxed to go close now. Can run fast time when she gets the room to operate and she is the best dog in the race. Just needs a good step and early position. Race 3 No. 8 Redeemer Blue and No. 5 Warringah Bale These look to have it between them. The 8 is strong and even though she one bats, she will go past most these. The 5 will be the one she has to catch. He will go quick early here and set up a lead. The last bit can test but raced better grade and there is no quality stayers in this. They should fight it out. Race 4 No. 1 Chance Take It Been caved in on opening markets and rightly so. He will give a huge sight off this box and he’s starting to stay strongly. Will almost lead here but should at least settle forward. A genuine top two show. Race 7 No. 8 Aston Costello Versatile and capable type who is well boxed here. Will push up out wide and can sustain a strong run home when wound up. Track and trip stats very good. He’s a threat here. Race 8 No. 5 Camp Fire Very good dog. Can be a little tardy early but unleashes a strong run up the back and keeps coming. Can come from anywhere and he’s a great place heavy play here at a big quote. Race 9 No. 3 Aston Luciano Another who has a terrific strike rate and will get into this quickly. Has 600m form as well so very strong and can run time. Will look ominous if he’s close into the back. Hard to beat. Race 12 No. 8 Edsel Bale and No. 5 Coulter Bale The 8 is perfectly drawn here. Wants off badly after box rise but can muster up and keep his run going throughout. Will give a sight now. The 5 just needs a look. Can drop monster run homes when the runs come and has raced better dogs on the past. Each way bird here. WENTWORTH PARK Race 4 No. 3 Black Wizard Drawn in and that’s when he does his best these days. Can nail the start but can also come from off the arm if he has to. Just needs first turn luck if he doesn’t lead. He will rush home well. Race 7 No. 3 Agland Luai Not at his absolute top but not going that badly either. His best work is when he leads and while he hasn’t been stepping lately, this field is as easy as he’s faced in a while. One more go. Race 8 No. 4 One Hot Bandit and No. 8 Cumbria Kid The 4 should have won last week. Made up tremendous ground from the back and was desperately unlucky. Can run serious time. Just needs a little luck here. The 8 is a great campaigner. He handles all draws and never stops trying. If he gets around early here he can give these a fright. Each way spec for him. Market Market
