Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on August 12, 2023August 12, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 3 No. 3 Disco Trixie Should have won last week. No ifs, buts, maybes or might have. It was should have!! Stepped well before meeting nothing but traffic before getting clear at the 700s and forging home hard. Only needs clear run to win and should hit top 2 here. Best bet to do just that at the price. Race 6 No. 4 Katchoo This will be run to play to his strength here. Speed everywhere else and he slots in behind and makes his run up the back and charges into this when a few of these are stopping. A little more genuine these days and can get over these late. Race 7 No. 2 Spin King Box draw crucial here. This is easier compared to what he’s faced recently and the draw is good now. Can step and lead when he’s on and he’s hard to catch. Gets a good map with room and this is his chance to bounce back. EW go for him. Race 8 No. 2 Sher Zany Under rated stayer who handles the 600m just as well as the 700m. Big win last start and drawn to not get too far back here. Will get into his work with a lap to go and these won’t hold him off if he’s down their necks turning for home. Top two player. Race 9 No. 4 Pudding Monelli Good run last week when the box bought him undone combined with his lack of early toe. Gets a better map here and slots over behind the two inside dogs who just aren’t racing well for this class of race. He just needs to navigate a clear run and he wins. Big show. Race 10 No. 5 Super Charge With the red driving up here annoying some other speed dogs early, this bloke might not sit that far off them. Has been taking time to get into his middle section but if he chimes in sooner this time, he will descend over a few these. Just doesn’t want to be chasing 4 or 8 and he can get the job done a hit top 2 at least. SANDOWN PARK Race 2 No. 8 Aston Costello and No. 4 Crackerjack Boom The 8 well boxed to muster up here and he sticks on strongly. Won here a few times already and a great EW price in this. Danger in 4 who can lead or come from back. Runs time as well and can offset the box to be a threat here. Both solid shows, especially the 8. Race 5 No. 2 Lornett Express Will look for the arm early and his run last time was more than enough to suggest he’s ready to win again. Hard to get past when he leads and he usually steps quickly and runs some time. Won or lost at box rise here but he’s a main contender and can figure. Race 7 No. 1 My Catalina While the boom stayer and fav will take some stopping, he showed last time he can be awkward and needs a bit to go right. The 1 was superb behind Zoha Bale last time and the box keeps her close here. She just keeps on coming and will be a huge show if this fav finds any strife at all and is a top 2 bet at least. Race 8 No. 7 Big Energy Former WA speedster who is boxed to give this a shake. 5 time winner here and in very fast time. Has blistering muster off the mat and drawn to get all the room here. comes off a 29.14 last start. A repeat simply wins. Race 10 No. 3 My Bonneville His own worst enemy most starts but he will get his chance to stay out of his own way here. Has a big engine and gets through the sections strongly up the back and sustains it all through the line. Just needs space to operate and he’s hard to stop here. WENTWORTH PARK Race 4 No. 1 Energizer Miss Made up good ground from the back last and while she does that often, she could land closer here and that was harder last time. Look for her to start her run up the back and nothing hits the line stronger here and shouldn’t miss the frame with a clear run. Race 8 No. 1 Zipping Novak and No. 4 Father Rick The 1 is the fastest dog in the race and he’s boxed to win. Only has to hold up early and get the room and these can’t hold him off. If he was to make an error, the 4 can go much better this week after missing the start badly last time. Not like him and he is a threat when he lands close. The red looks the one here though. Save the 4. Market Market
