Greg’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 15, 2016June 16, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 STORMY PLANET put in a shocker last start and was subsequently sent back to the trials in which he won by over 3 lengths in slick fashion. If he can replicate that trial form at the races he has strong claims. THEORIZE ran well first-up and she can lead or box seat from gate 1. EXECELLENT JERRY has trialled well. CONFIRMATION can improve on a substandard first-up effort. Numbers – 8 – 5 – 10 -6 Suggested Bet – Stormy Planet and Theorize RACE 2 NUN TOO SAVVY didn’t get the best of luck at her most recent start in Saturday grade. This looks much easier and she gets her chance for a maiden win. TIDE UP worked home well at Pinjarra. WHAT’S UP DOC showed good speed in a recent trial. HEZA SHORE THING trialled well. Numbers – 10 – 8 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – Nun Too Savvy win RACE 3 STATE SOLICITOR looks a promising type for the Peters/Williams team. At his only race start he finished just behind the placings. He has trialled in very good order since and from gate 1 he should get all the favours in running. MASSACHUSETTS raced a little flat last week. Her best sees her in the finish. SHADABLAZE will sit on the speed and give a kick. TWO FOR TWENTY TWO won well first-up at Pinjarra. Numbers – 4 – 6 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – State Solicitor win RACE 4 Ex Hong Kong four-year-old BANGALORE has trialled in super order for his local debut. He parks in behind the speed and if he brings his trial form to the races he takes a stack of beating. POP HERO will appreciate dropping back to 1000m. Pike goes back on to ROYALIC which should aid his chances. POTENT SECRET can run a race despite the 62.5kg impost. Numbers – 7 – 6 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – Bangalore win RACE 5 This looks a very thin race. AWESOME AS will sit on the speed and gets her chance for much deserved win this preparation. FAMOUS SOMEDAY found the line strongly in the same race as Awesome As at Pinjarra and looks the danger. VITAL LASS has place claims. PEACEMAKING is a grinding type who will sit on the speed and can fill a hole for the first-four. Numbers – 3 – 2 – 11 – 1 Suggested Bet – Awesome As and Famous Someday RACE 6 SONG OF WAR showed plenty of fight when breaking his maiden at Pinjarra. He rolls forward and should be hard to run down. MUSGAVE was a big winner two back and then led and was caught late in a moderate Saturday race. She goes close. OUTSPOKEN DUKE can improve on his first-up performance. CHECKERS next best. Numbers – 3 – 7 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – Song Of War save Musgave RACE 7 SECRET MINX strung together a hat trick of wins at the provincial circuits before bumping into a strong Saturday race. This looks much easier race and she can improve sharply. FURIOUS DAME is a very capable mare who will lead or box seat. The Simon Miller trained pair of RED PADDY and BACHE have claims. Numbers – 7 – 2 – 11 – 9 Suggested Bet – Secret Minx and Furious Dame RACE 8 Terrific finish to the program. BARZINHO was getting warm when the race was all over last start. He improves with the rise to 1400m and can make his presence felt. PRINCESS JASMAN is a mare on the up and can run a race fresh. BOMBER BAY is a hit and miss type but if found anywhere near his best form he’d beat these. MEDOM can improve with Paul Harvey going back on. Numbers – 8 – 16 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – Barzinho each-way QUADDIE RACE 5 – 2, 3 RACE 6 – 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 RACE 7 – 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 RACE 8 – 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 14, 16 Bet Now!
