Greg Hooper’s Ascot Posted on March 3, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper RACE 1 The speed should come from WRINKLY and SNIPPETISM with BURNING MAGIC camped on their backs. On that basis happy to go for the 10 start maiden BURNING MAGIC. She was well thought of in betting last Sunday at Pinjarra where she drew awkwardly, was caught wide and ran a big second to a smart horse in slick time. This doesn’t look the strongest of Saturday races and expect she can compete strongly. BOLD SUCCESS is crying out for this distance range. He appears the main danger. WRINKLY has been up for a long period but he gets his chance with the class drop. KINGDOM AND EMPIRE can work into the first-four from an inside draw. Numbers – 7 – 4 -1 – 5 Suggested Bet – BURNING MAGIC AND BOLD SUCCESS RACE 2 On paper this race looks devoid of any speed with FATHNOXIOUS potentially being able to dictate terms upfront. It shouldn’t really bother the favourite GALAXY STAR who possesses a devastating turn of foot and can round these up despite the expected muddling tempo. FATHNOXIOUS looks a terrific place chance if the race pans out how it appears on paper. ANOTHER VISION is hard to catch and usually saves her best for the provincial circuits however from a good draw she gets every chance to run into the first-four. PRIME WITNESS next best. Numbers – 2 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – FATHNOXIOUS PLACE RACE 3 Not a great deal of natural tempo with AWESOME AS potentially taking up the role as pacemaker. Very tough race to assess. SONNEN was very good first-up and the sound second-up. Gate 1 he could kick through to lead or take the trail and Brad Parnham going on looks a big plus. WAYSIDE should be just about ready at his third run back from a spell. TYCOON TARGET is in career best form. ROYAL SUPREME gets back and can finish strongly. Numbers – 10 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – SONNEN WIN RACE 4 This is a terrific two-year-old race and arguably the strongest we have seen this season. COLOURFUL CHARADE will likely burn forward from wide to try and cross with KEEPER KEN, MY DEMI, AL DI LA and WACKED OUT prominent. SEANNIE looked really good on debut, settling off the speed and charging clear very late. The inside draw and 1000m are negatives however she gets the nod on her raw ability and upside. KEEPER KEN impressed in both wins and has been tuned up with a lovely trial win. They look the two big guns on paper. SOUNDCHECK was well thought of on debut however he missed the kick and found traffic problems. WACKED OUT led and ran slick time in a recent trial win. Numbers – 7 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – SEANNIE WIN RACE 5 CHINETTI can cross with GIGANTE, SHADY GRAY and SHE’S A VIRTUE handy. GIGANTE has been outgunned at listed grade. This is a big step down and he should be able to settle in a handy position close to the speed. RIPPER RIO resumes for a new stable. He races well fresh including a big first-up win last campaign. His trial effort looked strong. MAX ALMIGHTY ran well first-up in a strong race. SAKER a blowout chance at odds. Suggested – 1 – 8 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – GIGANTE AND RIPPER RIO RACE 6 The race looks devoid of any natural speed, it is guesswork to see who takes it up. On paper looks the two big players appears to be PRECIOUS MEMORIES and ROYAL STAR. At the prices on offer happy to go with PRECIOUS MEMORIES who has had the perfect preparation. The middle gate looks ideal as Jerry Noske can have her parked just behind the speed ready to strike. ROYAL STAR could be anything. If she wins this coming off a 6 week break and after missing a run doubt any of these fillies will beat her again this preparation. The Bob Peters pair of AWAKEN and VERY TEMPTING next best. Numbers – 1 – 7 – 5 – 12 Suggested Bet – PRECIOUS MEMORIES SAVE ROYAL STAR RACE 7 This should be a strongly run race with FORSEEN natural speed horse and HELMS GATE, KING OF WU, RED GLOW AND LONG OVER DUE all pressing forward. Think it should set it up nicely for the closers namely POLITICS and TANJIER. Both look very well suited with a genuine tempo and being allowed to utilise their big finishes. ZEFIRO is flying since joining the Roland Piercey stable. CHECKERS has claims as he gets a soft run from gate 2. Numbers- 3 – 5 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – POLITICS AND TANJIER RACE 8 BARAKI BEATS tries to find the front with INFATHUATED, SHALO and SETTLERS CREEK racing handy. MATERIAL MAN looks a terrific chance. He was very good first-up making late ground. He should improve off that run and the mile is ideal. The stable mate INFATHUATED looms as the main danger. PINZU comes off a 6 weeks break and has drawn the car par however if he races to his best he can win despite those negatives. SETTLERS CREEK has place claims. Numbers – 2 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – MATERIAL MAN WIN (SUPER PICK PROFIT PLUS) Bet Now!
