Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 16, 2016December 19, 2016 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: TABTOUCH 3YO MS PACE EL BARCELONA (6) has any amount of ability and put it all together at his last start when a 1.55.8 winner here over IM STYLISH (5). He has had tractability issues in the past but will be hard to beat if he does everything right. IM ROCKARIA (8) is the reigning 2YO of the year and has resumed with two comfortable wins in easier company. HERRICK ROOSEVELT (1) went 1.55.2 in winning at his only start and has the draw to offset the rise in class. IM STYLISH (5) takes on the boys but can measure up. Tips: 6 8 1 5 Suggested Bet: EL BARCELONA (6) to win. Race 2: CHOICES FLOORING WESTBRED MS PACE MISTER VERSACE (1) was held up at a crucial stage when a fast finishing 2nd to TRUSTYTREV (5) before a solid 5th in stronger company. He will appreciate the drop in class and looks extremely hard to beat from the pole. SOHO WALL STREET (6) had gear problems on Monday and his previous form suggests he will be competitive here. ARGYLE RED (8) disappointed after leading last start but is better suited here. TRUSTYTREV (5) is ultra-consistent and won’t be far away again. Tips: 1 6 8 5 Suggested Bet: MISTER VERSACE (1) to win. Race 3: PRINCI BUTCHERS XMAS GIFT QUALIFYING HEAT 1 IM FULL OF EXCUSES (2) has won six on end, including a last start win when he worked his way to the front and won as he liked. This is actually a drop in class and he looks the winner. SKY ART (1) sat behind the leader when 2nd at Bunbury and should be close up if he has the same trip tonight. RYCROFT (4) faced the breeze when a solid 3rd last week and shouldn’t be far away again. PAY ME CULLEN (5) ran on to finish 2nd last week but this is harder. Tips: 2 1 4 5 Suggested Bet: IM FULL OF EXCUSES (2) to win. Race 4: TABTOUCH XMAS GIFT QUALIFYING HEAT 2 RUB OF THE GREEN (8) impressed when he started from a wide draw and worked hard in the final lap before drawing away for a comfortable win in stronger company last week in quick time. The small field suits and he is clearly the one to beat. BRONZE SEEKER (1) has been tackling stronger fields from bad barriers and looks an improver here. BLACKNSWEET ADDA (3) is racing very consistently and shouldn’t be far away. OHOKA DARCY (5) had been disappointing but ran a slashing 3rd last week. Tips: 8 1 3 5 Suggested Bet: RUB OF THE GREEN (8) to win. Race 5: RETRAVISION XMAS GIFT QUALIFYING HEAT 3 KING LEBRON (2) bounced back to his best with an all the way win rating 1.55.4 for the 2130m journey here last week. He looks a good thing if he leads but will still be hard to beat if he doesn’t find the front. PADABING STRIDE (1) was a solid Bunbury winner at his last start and holds the key to the race from the pole. OHOKA KENTUCKY (5) has hit peak form and should be in the finish again. HIDDEN BAD (7) has been racing well against the state’s best mares and can overcome the draw. Tips: 2 1 5 7 Suggested Bet: KING LEBRON (2) to win. Race 6: WESTRAL XMAS GIFT QUALIFYING HEAT 4 LIVURA (2) has only missed a placed once in his last 15 starts and gets his chance to notch up another victory here. He was a good winner over Soho Chelsea before a solid 2nd to Master Jaxon last week and is perfectly drawn tonight. CUT FOR AN ACE (4) couldn’t make any ground in a fast race last week but his previous form is good enough for this. IDEAL TYSON (5) drops in class after only finishing 14m from the winner in the Golden Nugget and must be considered. RUSTY ROCKETS (1) can be competitive from the pole. Tips: 2 4 5 1 Suggested Bet: LIVURA (2) to win. Race 7: TABTOUCH MS PACE CYAMACH (3) finished just behind the placegetters in his three Inters heats before leading throughout to win the Consolation. He is race hardened and drawn to run a big race. DAVID HERCULES (9) hasn’t raced for 17 months but has warmed up for this with two good Byford trial wins. He would win this if near his best and must be respected. WAYLADE (7) raced well during the Inters series before disappointing in the Consolation but can bounce back. MYNAMESKENNY (6) is the new kid on the block but looks to be the other winning hope. Tips: 3 9 7 6 Suggested Bet: CYAMACH (3) to win. SuperPick - Race 7 No. 3 CYAMACH - Money Back – Run 2nd Race 8: GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND MARES MS PACE SHEEZ EDGY (11) has won four of her last five in style, and was far from disgraced when doing all of the work in the last lap when a close 4th to Fay Darling. GIULIANA RANCIC (7) has been placed at her last five and was an impressive winner on Monday and may go on with it now. FOXY DAME (1) has had this draw a lot recently and should be competitive again. CHEVRONS CHAMPION (8) hadn’t been at her best but looked good when winning in 1.55.9 on Monday and looks a player. Tips: 11 7 1 8 Suggested Bet: SHEEZ EDGY (11) each way. Race 9: CADUCEUS CLUB MS PACE GALACTIC STAR (8) has finished close to the rear in the recent 4YO Classics but will appreciate a drop in class tonight. His previous form in similar company was solid and he should run a big race. STRAIGHT THRU BLUE (3) couldn’t make ground in a 55.5 last half on Monday but is getting close to a win. AMERICANBOOTSCOOTA (1) disappointed when 8th at Williams which is not a good form reference for this but should be a big improver. ULTIMATE MAJOR (9) was a strong last start winner but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 8 3 1 9 Suggested Bet: GALACTIC STAR (8) to win. Race 10: INTERNATIONAL ANIMAL HEALTH MS PACE RAYMON JOHN (1) showed plenty in his younger days but didn’t do much in three Kalgoorlie runs after 2½ years away from the track. He has changed stables and would win this at his best so monitor the betting. LEFTRIGHTGOODNIGHT (3) hasn’t had much luck in stronger company recently and can improve. THE REAL NADAL (7) was a good 3rd behind Major Stare last start and should be a player. JUNGLEFACE JAKE (11) has been unplaced at his last nine starts but this is easier.
