Glenn Ingram’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on December 8, 2025December 8, 2025 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 LADY VERITY appears the best of an even bunch, she was heavily-bet fresh at Geelong dominating the race off the front and gave a strong kick in the straight. It’s her 1st attempt at 1200, lakeside, inside draw, she gets every chance to win again. BOLD BORDEAUX impressed at the trials and won narrowly on debut, the race rated ok and beat a handy filly in a tight go, maps similar, outside leader or may push on. CAVERN got a soft lead to win on debut then went back and was solid chasing at the higher level, he could be positive this time around. ARABELLA STAR is one to watch, she’s on the up and chased the line hard when winning at Kilmore, this is much stronger, like the ways she’s going, top 4 hope at odds. Selections: 7,1,3,6 Suggested Bet: LADY VERITY win RACE 2 YELLOWJACKET put in an excellent debut at 1000m coming out of the chute at Pakenham when chasing hard behind a smart filly from the Bedggood stable, they ran good time and she looks to have further upside stepping out to 1200m. THANKS GORGEOUS was a forgive first-up ridden with no intent in a sit/sprint at Bendigo then brave to the line in the G3 at Caulfield ridden aggressive from a wide draw. Overdue a maiden win, the end of 1200m could test her. FASTOCA has good jumpout form to debut for the Eurell stable, wide gate is a concern. LAYLA debuts for Lindsay Park having started her career in Sydney with Waterhouse & Bott, jumpouts suggest ability. Selections: 11,13,3,6 Suggested Bet: YELLOWJACKET each way RACE 3 Many chances in a wide open race. KANDINSKY was the pick of the debutants, joined Price & Kent after impressive trials in NZ, he’s a work-in-progress doing a few things wrong at the local jumpouts, cross-over nose band to help him settle, the ability is obvious to see and i suspect he is good enough to win this at the first time of asking. ALGORITHMIC has the best of the exposed form resuming, lacks early speed to capitalise and will need favours in the run. ALIANO could sit handy, well-backed to win at Pakenham and presented to before fading in the final 100m, fitter. RUMBLE TOWN was good late at the end of 1200 first-up at Kyneton, sticky draw and another giving up ground early. Suggested Bet: KANDINSKY 1 x 3 RACE 4 Where to look, angles coming from everywhere. METALLIC is placed to win first-up for the new stable, won both his jumpouts at Cranbourne in impressive style and maps to get a good run midfield off what should be a strong tempo, market support would be telling. TWO WOLVES may end up the best horse in the race, his jumpouts have been no guide, 1200 is a query, he maps to get the smother and produced late. Love to see TURN UP THE NIGHT backing up quickly into this, hard & fit, on-speed, can give a shout, so too PRIVATE JUMBO a decent horse with a poor win strike rate, he resumes for a new stable with blinkers back on and is always competiitve when racing at this level. Selections: 8,10,11,4 Suggested Bet: None RACE 5 Good placement by the Eurell stable to have WOLFESS peaking third-up at the 2100m for this event, she did had all favours to sprint best and score at the Heath track last start and was only getting warm at the end of 1800m. Up 2.5kg, she needs it dry, the forecast is positive and from a good draw should be fighting out the finish. EXPEETEE is flying and the lamplighter here, led at a good tempo and maintained throughout to win at Wodonga, another smart claim again for the promising apprentice. WINSTON is also coming off a last start win, heavily-backed at Kilmore, Mott can position up outside lead from the wide draw. GATES will appreciate the significant class drop and is drawn to figure. Selections: 8,1,3,2 Suggested Bet: WOLFESS win RACE 6 ANGIEMARIE showed alot of ability at the trials and jumpouts but disappointed on debut and was spelled. Returned with a strong on-pace maiden win at Pakenham setting an even speed as joint leader. Gives the impression she will improve with racing and a positive ride can see her measure up at the higher level. DARKBONEE also caught the eye at the trials and started a warm fave at Warrnambool, loomed to win and fought hard but no match for the race-fit winner. Firmer track suits, will give them a start. KATSUMI OROCHI was very good chasing at Cranbourne, given no hope with the race shape, it coud work out similar here but they’ve gone with blinkers first time to get him into the race. LEGEND BEAST was enormous from the back at Moe, stays at the mile, he’s surely being set up for something longer. Selections: 15,8,9,4 Suggested Bet: ANGIEMARIE 1 x 3 RACE 7 Thought ORANGE EARS was the best at odds on this card, resumed off one jumpout and 47 weeks out, the little mare is a trier and was super first-up at Albury over 1000m, making up good ground late. This is her level, she naturally improves with a run second-up and gets the hot hands of Luke Nolen in the saddle. Genuine winning claims. ESCARPA is flying for the Eurell stable, good effort behind the highly-progressive Tennessee Bound on the Heath track, the last 100m is always her test over 1200m. BETWITCHERY has been impressing at the jumpouts for Corstens & Larkins, a first-up winner last prep, if she can get rolling early from the wide draw she is some chance. GROUSE MOUNTAIN made a terrific return off a long break at the Heath, also has a tricky map to navigate. Selections: 8,7,3,1 Suggested Bet: ORANGE EARS 1 x 4 @$27 RACE 8 Best of the day STEALTH OF NIGHT, underdone and left a sitting shot first-up over 1300m at Cranbourne, nabbed in the shadows. Staying at the level, she can press forward following the speedy SISTER SHAY across from the wide gate, from there should take a power of beating. The Widdison-trained mare will give a sight, if the Lakeside is playing it’s traditional way she gets every chance to repeat her impressive win at Wodonga. PORTER should box-seat in behind from the inner draw, finds it hard to win, always competiitve. Loved the recent trial from DARTBOARD, stayer resuming, 1400m suits and gets an expected fast speed to be running on late, a top 4 hope at the big odds. Selections: 16,8,1,5 Suggested Bet: STEALTH OF NIGHT win BEST BET: R8#16 STEALTH OF NIGHT VALUE: R5#8 WOLFESS ROUGHIE: R7#8 ORANGE EARS Market Market
