Match Overview

England Manager Roy Hodgson is talking about resting players and starting with the goal scorers from the Wales match Vardy and Sturridge in place of Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling. This could be a positive move for England.

It has been a mystery why Vardy has not started in both matches and true to form as soon as he was injected against Wales in the second half he scored.

However his move to rest Captain Wayne Rooney has the potential to end up badly.

Winning Group B for England is important as it sets up a quarter final against Portugal or Belgium which would be a better option than finishing second and possibly playing France in the quarter finals.

However, Slovakia are not a team to be underestimated as witnessed by their most recent 2-1 win over Russia with the ever dangerous Marek Hamsik scoring his second tournament goal and the graceful Vladimir Weiss a player to watch.

Slovakia are a good counter attack team with a mobile defense that will put pressure on the England midfield and with talent up front any underestimation by England could end up in disaster.

England have the firepower both forward and midfield to win this match and Group B and if Hodgson is true to his word and starts Vardy and Sturridge they can get away to a quick start for a change.

Player Watch

Jamie Vardy scored when he came off the bench against Wales and starting may give him the chance of early glory.  His pace could be a big worry for the Slovakian defenders.
