Deane Lester’s Flemington Best Bets Posted on December 21, 2018 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Best Bets RACE 1 NO.4 QUEEN LA DIVA QUEEN LA DIVA has really hit her straps in recent weeks and looks well placed to complete a hat trick of wins when she contests the 3YO Fillies Benchmark 70 Handicap (1400m). The daughter of Snippetson broke her maiden in fine style at Bendigo two starts back before another comprehensive win over 1600 metres at Sandown on December 5. Whilst she is stepping back in distance, the Darren Weir trained filly is improving with racing, will be very strong at the end of this race and should prove hard to beat again. RACE 6 NO.6 ORDER OF COMMAND ORDER OF COMMAND is a progressive sprinter from the Danny O’Brien stable that should prove hard to beat again when he contests the Benchmark 84 Handicap (1000m). The four year old looked good winning the Grand Handicap (1100m) at Flemington on November 10 and has been kept fresh for this race. He trialled nicely in a jumpout at Werribee on December 10 which should have him primed for this race. Champion rider Damien Oliver takes the ride and ORDER OF COMMAND can win his fourth race from 10 starts. RACE 9 NO.12 MASTERING MASTERING is a recent addition to the Mick Price stable that looks the standout bet of the bet when he contests the Benchmark 78 Handicap (1200m). The four year old made a stunning debut for the stable winning over 1200 metres at Kilmore on November 25 by six lengths defeating subsequent city winner EXCELTARA and the well performed MR MONEY BAGS. It was the win of a horse with a good future and this race looks the natural progression through his grades. Market Market
