Darren Clayton’s Albion Park Preview Posted on November 12, 2021November 12, 2021 | Posted by Darren Clayton RACE ONE KASH US BACK (3) has been at the top of the sectionals chart every week, but somehow keeps finding conditions to conspire against him. Gate 7 was his kryptonite last week, yet the closing splits were the quickest. A rub of the green is all he needs. ROCKNROLL ICON (8) was not far from Replaced Eye 3 runs back and then last week conditions suited as he arrived for a smart win. IDEAL WORLD (5) is a gazelle out of the machine and last week was not far from the winner after starting from the second line. LOMBO HEAVEN (1) also has slick moves when the green light goes on and holding the keys to the hopes of many, his record over the 2138m asks some questions. SELECTIONS: 3-8-5-1 SUGGESTED BET: KASH US BACK (3) to win RACE TWO MAJORCA (10) found the front in the $50k G2 Final here last week and nearly pulled off the huge upset when only collared right when it mattered. A win would have made it a perfect six-pack of successive victories since arriving in Queensland. She looks up to the task. BRAEBEACH (4) ended his chances last start when making an error. Trialling since that hiccup in super order, he looks a horse on the up from limited starts. GOING FOR GOLD (1) is another that struck trouble last start. Effective off the pace, he maps to get the cosy trip. LE TISSIER (5) was trying to work into the battle wide off the track last start when it favoured those in front and on the pegs. Has won 4 of 7 here at The Creek. SELECTIONS: 10-4-1-5 SUGGESTED BET: MAJORCA (10) to win RACE THREE KEAYANG MARVEN (8) tracked into the race smartly last start in a heat for this Final, pulling clear for a big victory. Sectionally superb of late, he is 2 from 2 when positioned behind the leader and taking the closing shot. BOMBADIER JUJON (1) has good speed off the arm and last time was wide out when chasing behind Keayang Marven to finish in second place. The gate advantage is a big plus. GOVERNOR JUJON (11) will be tightened following the heat where he was resuming from a break after a two-start campaign last time in saw him claim a gritty victory when second-up. His star power cannot be denied. ITALIAN LAD (10) was eased off the arm from gate five last start as the short-priced favourite. Unable to get into the contest, he can turn it around here. SELECTIONS: 8-1-11-10 SUGGESTED BET: KEAYANG MARVEN (8) to win **BEST BET** RACE FOUR CAPTAIN NEMO (2) will tackle a full field of pacers his own age for the first time in Queensland. Only beaten a half-neck last start when working hard outside Italian Lad, unlike a few of the other contestants, he can run a strong 2138m. BIG WHEELS (5) was game in defeat last week when stepping out fresh from a spell. Sent to sit parked, he was giving all the way as Chamonix held on in front. Fitter for the outing, a return to the front line looks favourable. CHAMONIX (9) landed outside the front line here last week when first up since the Qld Derby back in July. Sent to the front, he was able to fight off the challengers for a smart win. MANILA PLAYBOY (7) comes into this first up and receives no favours from the wide gate. A smart G1 winner 3 runs back when claiming the Triad, he has graced the track in a pair of preparatory trials. SELECTIONS: 2-5-9-1 SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN NEMO (2) to win RACE FIVE AWAYWEGO (3) had the early hustle to be first across to the poles last start before opting for cover thereafter. Peaking on his run in the stretch despite finishing just in behind the winner, the added fitness is a big plus. LEAP TO FAME (1) had a picket fence knocked down last time when taken to Menangle, missing the top three also had his Breeders Challenge aspirations hosed down. The gate puts him in the mix. TEDDY DISCO (6) was huge here last week, burning the candle at both ends and still having the audacity to repel the challengers. Forced to start from gate 7 for this battle is concerning. BANGKOK DEEJAY (2) resumes from a spell and has faced the starer just twice in his career. His last trial was a pleasing piece of work SELECTIONS: 3-1-6-2 SUGGESTED BET: AWAYWEGO (3) to win RACE SIX SCARLET BABE (2) has now had 4 runs back from a spell, the latest when nailed on the wire by Jeradas Delight. Coming from wide gates since resuming, she has the versatility and power required to defeat the main danger. THE STUNNING NUN (3) looks to be that danger and has been super since joining the Jason Grimson stable. Sent North for a hit and run mission, she can boast Expensive Ego form and a slippery last start win on a bog track at Menangle. FAME ASSURED (1) was chasing after being buried away here last start and from the ace, looks set to be hemmed away once again. JERADAS DELIGHT (6) was the Golden Girl in the Winter and the Queen of the Creek here last week. Brilliant off the pace, the gate makes it tricky. SELECTIONS: 2-3-1-6 SUGGESTED BET: SCARLET BABE (2) to win RACE SEVEN MAJESTIC SIMON (6) has been without a win since the Winter Carnival but slowly he has been building back towards his best. The last time he tackled the mobile mile was from gate 7 where he blew them apart to claim a 25m victory and this looks the weekly dose of #LeaderPeter doing his thing. RED CASTELTON (3) has run past Majestic Simon on the past two occasions they have met, including here last week. From the gate he can look to take the first advantage. CLAUDYS PRINCE (1) was beaten by gate 6 in last week’s trotting feature but was strong over the closing stages up the fence. He should settle closer here. SIR FAHRENHEIT (8) looked to have every opportunity last start when Red Castleton arrived in the last strides and buried gives him no favours. SELECTIONS: 6-3-1-8 SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC SIMON (6) to win RACE EIGHT MACH DA VINCI (3) answered the month-long debate about who is the best FFA performer in Queensland at present when scoring a devastating win in the Be Good Johnny. That made it 4 on end and he looks the leader they have to catch. SPEECH IS SILVER (9) stayed home from last week’s sprint to focus on this race at the 2138m where his record is super. His pattern is to charge home off the speed and he owns 4 of the top 10 quickest last 800m sectionals in the past two months- from just four starts. KANENA PROVLIMA (2) was the eye-catcher out of last week’s sprint, threading a passage after easing from gate 5 to find position. Settling closer can aid his cause. MAJESTIC CRUISER (6) is the query runner from the wide gate but brings G1 form with runs in the Victoria Cup and Len Smith Mile in his past two outings. SELECTIONS: 3-9-2-6 SUGGESTED BET: SPEECH IS SILVER (9) each-way RACE NINE CHRISSY CHIC (3) joins the travelling Grimson team from Sydney looking to cause a night of pain for the locals. Massive in defeat last start at Menangle in an Australian record, her class looks decisive from this gate. JASPER (2) will take good improvement from her close 3rd here last week after doing all the work outside Shes Miss Devine when drawn off the second line. SHES MISS DEVINE (6) took full advantage of her gate speed here last week when firing out and dictating to a narrow victory. The gate stings with the main dangers gaining the jump this week. CATCH PHRASE (1) punched through along the pegs last week to edge Japer out of 2nd, nearly cause a boilover in the process. SELECTIONS: 3-2-6-1 SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3 / 1-2-6 / 1-2-6 RACE TEN FIRST STRING (4) looks to get a nice drop in grade from his recent opponents which includes a 7m margin in arrears of Kiwis Are Flying after sitting parked. Conditions look ideal. GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (1) was looking to fight them off in the stretch last week, but Herbs Hero zoomed past after having the sit on him. Not sure if the rise to 2138m helps from the same gate. BALDUCCI (8) sat on the back of Herbs Hero out of that same race last Saturday night, getting past the leader from 3 poles and only a head from the winner with a similar pattern likely in this. THE HUMMER (5) might be the one asked to do it the tough way here but can grind it out when required. SELECTIONS: 4-1-8-5 SUGGESTED BET: FIRST STRING (4) to win Market Market
