Chris Nelson’s Sunshine Coast Best Bets Posted on September 23, 2021September 23, 2021 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 5 No.7 Madam Ava Locally trained filly who looked good winning on debut here back in August over 1000m. She was then a month between runs dropping back to 900m at the Gold Coast when unable to keep in touch early settling around 6 lengths behind the second last runner. She certainly hit her straps in the straight though closing strongly into third spot. She gets to 1200m tonight which looks made to order. RACE 7 No.12 Blood Thunder Without doubt this All Too Hard gelding will be better suited stepping out to distances further than the 1300m he again tackles here. The fact he comes up with an inside draw though suggests jockey Jimmy Orman will have him in a close enough spot to strike in the straight and we know he’s going to be very strong to the line. That was certainly the case when called upon for an effort first up winning his maiden here in very impressive fashion. RACE 8 No.1 The Irons Not the sort of race I’d usually be getting involved in however he just looks so well placed with the 3kg claim it’s hard to pass up. Such a consistent type he strikes a very mediocre bunch who struggle to put placings together. Not so for him who although only having registered 6 wins has placed on a further 31 occasions! Just looks too good for these. Quaddie 7, 2, 1, 3 2, 11 12, 2 1 Market Market
