Chris Nelson’s Saturday Eagle Farm Preview Posted on June 22, 2023June 22, 2023 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 Only a small field to go around in this opening race where the visiting Anthony & Sam Freedman stable hold a strong hand with RIGHT TO PARTY who is well in the market & ET TU BRUTE who opened big odds before firming. I’m with the latter who will give his stablemate a start however I like him on the bigger track & the price is still appealing. Confident one of the two will win, CAP FERRAT next best. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet: ET TU BRUTE TO WIN (small bet) RACE 2 Keen on EKATERINA here, had the race been a little further I’d be declaring her however even back to 1200m she should be winning. She’s put in some super slick sectionals this time in & the leaders should run along in this race which will help her get over the top of them late. CHINNY BOOM is one of our best 3yo’s returning off an injury, expect her right up on the speed. CYTHERA has Group form & will also appreciate a strong speed. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet: EKATERINA TO WIN RACE 3 Not saying LUNCIES can’t win this as he does have form around the impressive Without A Fight however I couldn’t take a short quote about him as he finds one better on most occasions. LONDON BANKER won this race last year & was solid running on in last week’s Ipswich Cup, should land in the first three & gets his chance to go back-to-back. Including THE MEDITERRANEAN who may end up with a soft lead. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet: LONDON BANKER TO WIN (small bet) RACE 4 The Battle Of The Bush is an absolute raffle, form comes from all over the state & on many different varied surfaces. With zero confidence I’ll go with MOSCINI who’s latest at Grafton is good enough to figure with luck from the wide draw. Start number 125 for the veteran 12yo HARD STRIDE who is always a chance. GRAND PALAZZO has the best-looking form however in weaker grade than most, can only win though & that’s what he’s been doing. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 13 – 10 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 in exotics if you must RACE 5 Keen on the chances of the ex-French mare OSMOSE who closed strongly two back at Doomben before an unlucky fourth here when not seeing much daylight in the straight. Clear late she found the line nicely between rivals & arguably should have finished closer. I’m certain Tim Clark will be aggressive from the start looking to quickly offset the wide draw. Little has gone right for OCEAN TREATY of late, she’s right in this should things pan out more positively. ALBURQ can bounce back. Numbers: 11 – 10 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet: OSMOSE TO WIN RACE 6 THALASSOPHILE does appear well placed in this race. She closed strongly at Rosehill two back over 2000m before back to a mile at her latest run which was here & again she found the line in good fashion. Now she’s back up to the longer trip & under the conditions of the race gets in very well at the weights. NOAH ‘N’ A DEEL has form around the likes of Kovalica & Amokura, she’s clearly at her best out to these longer trips. PRINCESS RHAENYS has been looking for further for some time now, gets it today. Numbers: 1 – 13 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet: THALASSOPHILE TO WIN RACE 7 Going for some value in the Group 1 Tiara putting CHAILLOT on top who’s been kept nice & fresh off an encouraging first up effort when closing well behind the Stradbroke winner Think About It. She now gets to her pet 1400m trip & will be strong late. OPAL RIDGE will carry the hopes of the punters, without doubt should have won here last start after racing wide without cover throughout, that won’t be the case today from the better draw. Throw in the emergency AUREUS ANGEL should she gain a start. Numbers: 8 – 16 – 22 – 5 Suggested Bet: CHAILLOT EACH-WAY RACE 8 PRINCE OF BOOM has the best form here however draws a wide gate & is a speed horse. Should he get over without spending too much petrol he’s the one to beat however will that be the case? I’m taking the safe way out putting the ultra-consistent THE BIG GOODBYE on top, he maps beautifully & was good last start albeit in an easier race off a wide draw. Genuine tempo could help QUANTICO who wasn’t at his best last start. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet: THE BIG GOODBYE EACH-WAY (small bet) RACE 9 Very difficult race to wind up the day. SURREAL STEP hit the line strongly at Randwick last start in Listed company, he really does look to be building up to a win however I’m just a little concerned about the 6kg weight increase. SWISS EXILE backs up off last weeks close up effort, only beaten narrowly the drop in distance will definitely help. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 16 – 18 Suggested Bet: Box op top 4 selections in exotics Market Market
