RACE 1 No.3 Orcein

Chris Waller trained youngster who turned in a solid debut performance here a fortnight back running on strongly at the end of the 1100m trip. Not the best to jump on that occasion he did a good job to wind up beating all bar the winner and will benefit greatly from the experience. Think he’s a definite chance to knock over the favourite Gongs.

RACE 2 No.2 Heliosphere

Colt from the Gerald Ryan yard who had a bit against him first up jumping away only averagely settling last in a race where the first two out were the first two home. His effort to wind up a very fast finishing third was terrific considering he was giving away almost 6 lengths at the 400m and almost 4 lengths at the 200m being beaten 0.7 lengths on the line! 1400m tomorrow plays right into his hands.

Team Snowden sprinter who appears well over the odds tomorrow at a double-figure quote. He comes off a smart barrier trial win at Randwick mid last month and is very effective when on the fresh side having won 3 from 5 first up attempts to date. Drawn well he can lead or take a trail and gain a cosy run with the big weight. Great value!
