Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on October 7, 2021October 8, 2021 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 5 No.2 Paulele James Cummings trained colt who looks the one to beat in the Group 2 Roman Consul. His form this time in has been first rate beating home In The Congo fresh before running second to that horse in the San Domenico, of course In The Congo then came out and scored again in the Group 1 Golden Rose further franking the form. This one followed up the San Domenico placing with another second closing off nicely behind Home Affairs who is very likely Everest bound. Plenty of ticks! RACE 7 No.14 Vangelic Last start Group 2 winner who likes to race up on the speed and looking at the map for this race there’s only her and a couple of others likely to push forward. She’ll take further improvement into this race being only third up and keep in mind she was beaten less than 2 lengths at the same stage of her last prep in the Group 1 Coolmore. Tim Clark is a master rating front runners in the big races, having him on top once again is a big advantage. RACE 8 No.1 Head Of State Really looking forward to the Spring Champion with this one, Profondo and Never Been Kissed all clashing at Group 1 level. Going to lean to Head Of State as he’s really come good at the right time and I just feel he is the one who’s going to appreciate the step up to 2000m more than the other pair. Profondo is bred to run it out and he could be one right out of the box however winning a Group 1 at start number three is no easy task. Should be a great race.
