Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on December 31, 2020December 31, 2020 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 5 No.2 Edison Bjorn Baker has this Fastnet Rock gelding going great guns at the moment with wins at his at his past 2 starts, in fact he’s won 4 of his past 6 with the beaten efforts being second placed ones. With the likelihood of a heavy/slow surface on Saturday his wet track record will come to the fore and his pattern of rolling forward and taking up a prominent position is always an advantage. No reason he can’t win again! RACE 6 No.4 Smart Image Very impressive lightly raced colt from the Team Snowden yard. Aided by a good ride from Kerrin McEvoy having to negotiate through traffic down the straight he proved too strong for his rivals first up at Canterbury. He’s won on soft ground twice with his only failure coming on a heavy 10 however keep in mind that was in the Group 3 Up & Coming Stakes suggesting the class of the race may have also had a far bit to do with his ‘failure’ that day. RACE 9 No.12 Tiny Godolphin trained filly who has won 2 of her 3 starts to date with every chance to add to that record on Saturday. She was a winner here on this track first up (soft 5) and has been kept nice and fresh since with that being back in early December. Kept up to the mark with a recent trial she appears well placed to build her winning strike rate even further. Quaddie 45% 4, 7 2, 3, 6, 7, 9 1, 3, 4 1, 5, 12 Market Market
