Chris Nelson’s Eagle Farm Best Bets Posted on September 30, 2022September 30, 2022 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 4 No.7 Moktaffy Chris Waller trained galloper who looks well placed to make it successive wins tomorrow. He raced consistently before breaking through here 3 weeks back over the same 1800m trip as tomorrow finishing too solidly for his rivals. He’s won a Sunshine Coast trial since which keeps his fitness levels in check and I’m of the opinion being only lightly raced the penny is now starting to drop, he can win again. RACE 6 No.11 Larrikin Rogue Probably the most interesting runner going around at Eagle Farm tomorrow and I’m right in his corner. He trialled very impressively before winning on debut at the Sunshine Coast after missing the start 3-4 lengths, ridden patiently by Steph Thornton who didn’t panic he was able to run right over the top of the leaders late. No trial leading into tomorrow’s return however I’d be surprised if trainer Chris Anderson doesn’t have him primed to go! RACE 9 No.11 Sweet Margot May Very promising mare from the Heathcote yard who can upset the short priced favourite Birriecart in the final race tomorrow. This will be Birriecart’s first trip to Eagle Farm, the surface is different and the 1200m tougher than at Doomben. Sweet Margot May is unbeaten 2 from 2 at the track and being a strong finisher will be full of running at the business end of the race. In what should be a terrific clash I’m with the mare.
