Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on February 24, 2022February 25, 2022 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 3 No.8 Knight Mariner Very promising galloper who resumed at Doomben a fortnight back putting in a cracking run to finish on the heels of the placegetters after being caught in traffic. That was his first outing since July 2020 when suffering a near career ending injury jet still running second in Group 3 company. Fitter, rising in trip and with wet track form he’s clearly the one to beat. RACE 7 No.8 Je Suis Belle Super consistent mare who I thought may need the run first up at the Sunshine Coast late January however that certainly wasn’t the case running on from last to beat all bar the winner by the barest possible margin. She gets 50m further on Saturday and the wet surface won’t prove any hurdle. Looks ideally placed to make it 3 wins from her last 4 starts. RACE 8 No.3 Tramonto Raced very well last campaign however his first up last here two weeks ago doesn’t read well on paper. However, he sat three deep without cover in what was a solidly run race and being first up his condition levels were likely not where they are now. He loves the wet ground and he has good form around Weona Smartone and Desert Lord in much stronger races last prep. Quaddie 4, 2, 8, 5 8, 7, 3, 1 3, 9, 10, 2 2, 10, 12, 9 Market Market
