Deane’s Caulfield Saturday Best Bets Posted on April 28, 2017 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 3 NO. 11 MR SNEAKY MR SNEAKY is an emerging talent that has been freshened since a fruitful late summer/ autumn campaign and looks a strong winning chance when he contests the Benchmark 78 Handicap (1200m). The son of High Chaparral hasn’t raced since a brave win defeating the highly talented THEANSWERMYFRIEND over 1400 metres at Flemington on March 4. He has trialled well in preparation for this race and, whilst he takes on older horses in this contest, looks to have more upside than his rivals. Champion rider Dwayne Dunn has been riding plenty of winners in recent weeks and can partner MR SNEAKY to a victory here. SuperPick - RACE 3 NO. 11 MR SNEAKY - Money Back – Run 2nd RACE 5 NO. 1 DOUBT I’M DREAMING DOUBT I’M DREAMING is likely to start the shortest favourite of the day at Caulfield when he runs in the Thoroughbred Club Cup (1200m) and should justify that quote with another win. The John McCardle trained colt could not have been more impressive winning on debut in the St Albans Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on March 24. He ran fast time on that occasion in a complete performance from back in the field and looks well above average. He has trialled well since that run, looks destined for better races and appeals as the standout bet of the day. RACE 9 NO. 6 THE CHAIRMAN THE CHAIRMAN should be much fitter for one run back from a spell and looks a good each way chance when he runs in the Benchmark 90 Handicap (1600m). The five year old worked home steadily to finish 3rd behind subsequent Flemington winner SADAQA over 1600 metres at Caulfield on April 15. His main danger looks to be CURRAGH that finished 2nd in the same race, however THE CHAIRMAN looked in need of that run last time and has more improvement in him. THE CHAIRMAN- CURRAGH looks a good quinella, however THE CHAIRMAN is the better value of the pair and can win at nice odds. Bet Now
