Scott’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on July 11, 2017 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 QUEST TO VENUS has always shown promise and dropping back to 1200m with W.Pike in the saddle she could shake her maiden tag. DEEP COVER is improving with every run this preparation. CONICAL PEAK has as much talent as attitude, tends to run her races in the yard. MAIWALD should get a soft run. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 13 – 14 Suggested Bet – QUEST TO VENUS EACHWAY Race 2 ARCADIA PRINCE is probably looking for 1200m or further but he is regally bred and looks classy. DANES MAREE was right on the winner’s heels last preparation and returned with an effortless trial victory. FINE SCENT is more than capable of winning on debut. CARESS YOUR SOUL comes from one of the stronger two year old formlines. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 13 – 9 Suggested Bet – ARCADIA PRINCE WIN Race 3 VEUVE DE VEGA looked as if he may have choked down first-up. Tongue tie goes on and his trial effort was excellent. FLYTEGO is going much better than his numerical form suggests and this is his easiest assignment in years. SOVEREIGN HALL got stopped in his tracks when looking the winner at the 150m mark. TWO FOR TWENTY TWO next best. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – VEUVE DE VEGA WIN Race 4 CAPE LADY resumes for a new stable. Her only start to date produced a booming win over a talented type. FAERIE WHISPER was supported in betting first-up but failed to fire a shot. Sharp improver back to midweek grade. DIAMOND PRINCESS on the short turn around and back in trip helps. IMPERIAL VENUS will appreciate having Autier back aboard. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – CAPE LADY WIN Race 5 CHIN STRAP finally broke his maiden status and can go through the grades quickly with some confidence. QUALITY FAIR is very well weighted after the claim for Casey Hunter. TRANSGRESSOR is a hard horse to catch but has lots of ability when on song. THE DANKSTER should be strong at the finish. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – CHIN STRAP WIN SuperPick - Race 5 No. 5 CHIN STRAP - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) Race 6 DAGORLAD got the job done last week and falls into a very winnable race again. DANEHILLS DAUGHTER seemed to relish every inch of the 2100m. DUST ME OFF looks to be building towards another victory. POWER PACKED is going well and improves lengths on soft going. If it rains he is a must. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – DAGORLAD WIN Race 7 JUPITER CALLING will be very hard to run down if Maddison Brown finds the front. THROUGH THE GLASS should get the run of the race leader’s back and use the cutaway to his advantage. PERSONA was strong to the line last start. NIGHTWATCHMAN is yet to bring his best this preparation. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – JUPITER CALLING EACHWAY Race 8 VENUS EBONY gets a 3kg weight swing on Halldora and if she can settle a bit closer gets her chance to turn the tables and return to the winner’s list. HALLDORA should be perfectly placed on speed to go very close. STOCKYARD was impressive at Northam but this is tougher. RED NOIRE is drawn awkwardly for her toughest test this preparation. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – VENUS EBONY WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 5 1,4,5,8 1,2,4,7 3,8 Bet Now
