Race 1

MELROS BEACH should track up perfectly in the run from the inside gate. With a bit of luck can give punters a cheeky eachway sight. MIZLECKI was a harsh reminder to favorite backers that short priced juveniles are a recipe for disaster. COGNAC is undefeated this preparation, toughest test yet. CAPTAIN STIRLING turned it on in a recent trial.

Race 2

BELTER returned in great order when marching three wide without cover the trip and still proving too strong. If there is a chink in the favorite’s armor he can expose it. HIGH CONVICTION comes to the races off a year long break. Big wraps on him but in the wet could be vulnerable. SLIK SAM will settle off them and rattle home. TOP OF THE CLASS is a quality animal but a query at 1000m.

Race 3

UPTOWN FUNK will appreciate having Shaun O’Donnell back in the saddle. Gets a gun run from barrier 1 and all four career wins are with him aboard. GALAXY STAR is obviously the one to beat and a very progressive mare but as a result goes round at prohibitive odds. GREY ENIGMA continues to race consistently. HOPETOUN can improve off a forgettable run last start.

Race 4

ABBASSO probably has his best racing in the rear vision mirror as a rising 7 year old but when the rain tumbles he turns up. Should get his best opportunity yet in WA to notch up another victory. CLASSICAL PRINCE was an eye catcher last weekend and on the quick back up could be another upset result. PROFIT STREET was never a hope last start on a heavily leader bias track, great chance to bounce back here. BARAKI BEATS can run a big race if he makes it into and out of the barriers.

Race 5

COME ON BOARD is very capable of running strong sectionals from the 1000m mark out in front and running rivals into the ground. Expect him to turn the pace on. NELSON’S FLIGHT drawn to lob leader’s back should get the perfect tow into the race. CRUACHAN belted a limited lot down at Pinjarra first-up in WA. GOMER WIPPLE has really turned a corner in the last month and will charge late.

Race 6

MIDDLE EARTH was strong on pace when beating a couple of handy types in midweek grade. This is a step up but drawn perfectly should be there for a long way. BERTANTINA was an eye catcher behind Blackline. RARE COIN is normally ridden cold and winds up which makes barrier 1 awkward. ELECTION grows wings in the wet, mad hope if it pours.

Race 7

ZARANTZ looks the testing material to test Scales of Justice if there is such a thing. Any rain will greatly help his chances. SCALES OF JUSTICE will go around at prohibitive odds and rightfully so. He gave quality opposition a galloping exhibition last start. ROSEWOOD HILL is flying. POUNAMU home as fast as he is capable of in the Hyperion.

Race 8

SHOW HONEY produced one of the strongest form-references of the early winter winning over 1200m on June 3. Back to 1200m and down sharply in the weights, big chance. BORDER SCOT is consistent as they come. He will always give you an eachway sight. ATLANTA BLUE lumped 60kg to run down Western Temple last preparation, he quality. HUMANITY is a politician, promises a lot but is yet to deliver.
