Chris Nelson’s Newcastle Best Bets Posted on November 10, 2022November 10, 2022 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 3 No.1 French Bonnet Well performed mare from the Kim Waugh stable who wasn’t far away first up at Rosehill a fortnight back behind Cotehele. She sat second outside that runner and although no match for the fitter galloper down the straight she presents a fitter type herself this time around and her second up record is terrific having yet to be beaten at three attempts. She races well here, she races well at the trip, she really does look the winner. RACE 6 No.12 Pink Ivory Consistent mare who’s only sub-par run this prep came two back when pulling up lame. Runs either side have resulted in a win and a close up second at Rosehill behind Pale King only going down narrowly. That galloper came out and won again last week further strengthening the form line. Widely drawn she’ll give a start before getting to the outside and charging home. RACE 7 No.3 Saveadateforme Savabeel colt from the John O’Shea yard who takes a big step up in grade on Saturday however the manner of his past two wins suggests he’s well up to the task. He missed the kick on debut at Goulburn before closing well to get within a length, his wins at Kembla & Goulburn since have been with a dashing sprint before easing up near the line. I’m convinced he can measure up! Quaddie 3, 2, 1 6, 3, 5, 20 11, 18, 1, 3 8, 6, 11 Market Market
