Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on August 19, 2022August 19, 2022 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 4 No.5 Niffler J Mac sticks with this Chris Waller trained mare who will appreciate the step up to 1600m on Saturday. She just had no chance last start when giving away too big a start in a race which was only run at a very leisurely tempo. She still managed to clock some slick sectionals to the line and shouldn’t be anywhere near as far back this time around. She’s been to this trip twice for a win and a second, she can build positively on that record come Saturday. RACE 6 No.7 Toomuchtobear Chris Waller again who this time teams up with Kerrin McEvoy on this third up stayer who has been impressive both run this prep. He ran home from last first up before battling away solidly second up to beat all bar the winner. He’s won here over the 2000m trip and stays on the light weight of 53kg which helps as he’s going up against some smart types higher up in the weights. RACE 8 No.3 Anamoe Hoping for a better price however I’m with him here first up. Had the race been 1200m I’d have reservations however 1400m will give him a chance to settle before unwinding with his run in the straight. Having drawn the inside gate and providing that section of the track races ok and we’ll know that by this stage in the day he gets the right run and with a split for J Mac should prove too classy.
