Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 7, 2021October 8, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 OTIS (2) was fancied to beat Jumpingjackmac here last week but found that pacer too good on the night. He takes on older horses here but looks the one to beat from his nice draw. KNOW WHEN TO RUN (4) is first-up after a 21-month absence and will be the obvious danger if near his top but his recent trial suggested he may be a couple of runs away. BE MY ROCK (6) won two on end before disappointing at his last start but can bounce back. THE WHITE RABBIT (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be dangerous late. Tips: 2 4 6 10 Suggested Bet: OTIS (2) to win. Race 2 ALICE KAY (1) led throughout here two starts back before running a nice 2nd and looks the one to beat from the pole tonight. EUPHORIA (4) was an impressive 1.55.7 winner here last week and has shown that he has the strength to face the breeze and fight out the finish. BLUE BLAZER (7) drops considerably in class on his recent assignments and will be charging home. TYLER BRETT (12) is better suited from the front line but can sneak into the placings at big odds if the race is run to suit. Tips: 1 4 7 12 Suggested Bet: ALICE KAY (1) to win. Race 3 MINI MINE YET (2) ran on well without threatening last week but is drawn to settle closer to the lead and can be dangerous at each way odds. WAINUI CREEK (9) has impressed in winning four of her last five starts this time in and must be respected on her victory from this barrier against a similar field at her last start. STAR OF DIAMONDS (8) has been placed in her last 17 starts and should fight out the finish again. VIVERE DAMORE (3) hasn’t had much luck in her two starts back from a spell and should be ready to show her best. Tips: 3 8 5 6 Suggested Bet: MINI MINE YET (2) each way. Race 4 IDEAL LINER (1) has a losing sequence of 22 but ran an honest 3rd to HOWARD HUGHES (9) here last week. He looks the likely leader and gets his chance to return to the winners’ circle. BLETCHLEY PARK (8) resumed with a comfortable all-the-way victory here and looks a major player despite the wide draw. GALACTIC STAR (4) hasn’t flattered in his two runs back from a spell but is a proven performer and can improve here. HOWARD HUGHES (9) was a good last-start winner in weaker company but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 1 8 4 9 Suggested Bet: IDEAL LINER (1) to win. Race 5 JUMPINGJACKMAC (5) did all the work at his resumption and still managed to hold off Otis in good time here last week. He will strip fitter for that effort and is clearly the one to beat. ALTA INTRIGUE (2) has been racing consistently in stronger fields and should be in the firing line throughout tonight. ALTA ENGEN (6) has the form and strength to be a major threat here but the draw makes it tough. JASPERVELLABEACH (4) is working back to his best form and can play a part at odds. Tips: 5 2 6 4 Suggested Bet: JUMPINGJACKMAC (5) to win. Race 6 INFATUATION (1) couldn’t handle the pressure when 4th to Howard Hughes last start but looks to get an easy lead here and will give them something to catch. BETTORSTARTDREAMING (8) has returned to his best with two wins from his last three starts and has the strength to overcome his wide draw. MY CARBON COPY (11) disappointed first-up but can improve driven with a sit tonight. VESPA (5) is always dangerous with the right run and will enjoy the likely solid tempo. Tips: 1 8 11 5 Suggested Bet: INFATUATION (1) to win. Race 7 LORD ROSCO (5) has been fancied in all five starts this time in but hasn’t managed to beak through. He looks a good chance to find the top and will give a great sight in that role. HENRIK LARSSON (3) finished less than 5m from LORD ROSCO (5) here two starts and has the barrier advantage tonight. OUR SEQUEL (4) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last five starts and can figure here with right run. SIDSTREPO (8) has the best form in the race, including a recent victory over Baltic Ace, but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 5 3 4 8 Suggested Bet: LORD ROSCO (5) to win. Race 8 WITHOUTTHETUH (2) was a beaten favourite at his first two runs back from a spell but improved when 2nd to Rockaball and is the class runner of this line-up. GEE SMITH (4) followed a Northam win with a narrow 2nd at this track and must be considered. HIT THE SKY (7) defeated a similar field at his last start but now gives his main rivals a 10m start. NEARIS GREEN (1) led throughout at his last run before a break and can give a sight first-up from the pole. Tips: 2 4 7 1 Suggested Bet: WITHOUTTHETUH (2) to win. Race 9 ALWAYS AN ANGEL (2) has resumed with three narrow but impressive victories against similar fields. She has drawn better tonight and is clearly the one to beat. NEWSY (5) was a strong winner against the boys at her last start and looks the main danger. BOORAA (6) led when nosed out by ALWAYS AN ANGEL (2) at her last start but is now drawn outside of her main rival. BENESARI LANE (1) did defeat all of the three fancies to win the WA Oaks and could be a blowout chance if there is a hot tempo. Tips: 2 5 6 1 Suggested Bet: ALWAYS AN ANGEL (2) to win. Race 10 PAUL EDWARD (6) was a solid winner in weaker company before running a solid 2nd to HIGH PRICE (7) at his last start and is capable of turning the tables after drawing inside that rival tonight. HIGH PRICE (7) was a comfortable all-the-way winner on debut and looks to have a very promising future. THE GOOD STAR (5) was a 1.55.3 winner two starts back and looks the other winning chance. HOKULANI (1) has been placed in three of his past five starts and should be thereabouts from the pole. Tips: 6 7 5 1 Suggested Bet: PAUL EDWARD (6) to win. Market Market
