Scott Embry’s Tuesday Bunbury Preview Posted on November 2, 2026November 2, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry Race 1 RULESOFADMIRATION won a 1050m trial at Lark Hill recently by nearly 3L. She trialled in shades (which she wears here), she jumped reasonably well, she found the top and she travelled the winner from start to finish. Prior trial (without blinkers) was behind talented speedster Flying Swagman. Looks to do everything right and will look to lead from start to finish. Would have preferred 1200 to 1000 but still will be out and rolling. EZE BIG CARL looks well named and still has a bit to learn but has improved with each trial. MAGNIFICENT MALCOLM went to a 3 year old Plate last start and was found out at that level. Prior run into fourth behind Flying In The Wind wasn’t too bad. MAKE IT SNOW is well bred and was doing his best late in his 1050m trial. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – RULESOFADMIRATION WIN Race 2 (Best Bet) STERN EMPIRE looks really hard to beat. First-up she was held up the entire length of the straight behind Official Business and Pucker Up (both go around at Ascot and both are odds on) and then second-up tried hard behind Tex N Cee who will likely run favourite in a C1 1400 at Belmont on Thursday. Was nominated for the Burgess Queen and this maiden and heads here with only 51kg. CRYPTO FORTUNE was green on debut at 1200m behind Profit Motive and Lady Torque. Everything out of that race is likely to be well supported in betting, including her, regardless of the fact she was beaten 5.6L. AGENT REMINGTON was really good first-up and really poor second-up. AUTUMN SALLY has shades immediately attached. A gear change a few of her ownership group would appreciate too. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – STERN EMPIRE WIN Race 3 CARTIER GLOW only just seems to run 1100m so glad that Tom Wolfe has stuck with his sister-in-law and her 3kg claim to keep the weight down to 53kg on his 3yo. There was very little between him and Extreme Ruler when they last met in the Champagne Talks race and doubt there will be much between them here. EXTREME RULER gets his chance here at start number 23 to finally break through. His first-up run he was only beaten just under a length into fifth in a blanket finish and then second-up he tried hard before being run down by Flying In The Wind who has since won a C1. BASILICA BLISS comes through a back straight 930m trial but did look to travel much better in the blinkers and should hold a spot. NICABOOM hasn’t trialled up that well but her 2 year old form is really encouraging for a race like this. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 12 – 11 Suggested Bet – CARTIER GLOW WIN Race 4 RUTHLESS BLOOM went awfully close two back when grabbed in the shadows by Rory’s Revenge. Was a bit plain last start at $1.90 but the Costa Del Darlo race has held up. Runner-up Squad Goal – winner, third placed horse De Lago’s Rock – winner, fourth placed Ruthless Bloom – ? SWEETER had a few trials when owned by breeder Bob Peters and trained by Michael Grantham and they were legless. This time around he’s landed at Kellie Grantham’s and the barrier trial was behind Von Rommel and Buster’s Babe who ran the quinella in a maiden first-up at 1100m at Northam. Interesting to see how she goes and what the market does with her. SPIRITART has been excellent at her last two. Clearly turned a corner. SHE’S RESOLUTE was better at York. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – RUTHLESS BLOOM WIN Race 5 SOUTH HOBA never looked like losing last start. That’s exactly how she had trialled a few times since arriving in WA and we’d just never seen it on race day. She was only having her second outing for the Tiarnna Noske stable and it quite simply could not be going any better at the minute. 5 winners from the last 10 runners to the track. Think she can lead and win again. POINT ROCKS was good four back and three back in C5 races at Pinjarra Scarpside and Bunbury. Different horse at Bunbury and only 54kg after the claim. Big book for Cyclone Webster. RORY’S REVENGE had excuses two back but last start was only fair in a C1 behind More Heroic. COSMIC CHAOS usually takes a few runs but did trial up well behind Western Lady. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – SOUTH HOBA WIN Race 6 THE MIGHTY BELL was a mighty win at her return to racing for new trainer Brent Larsson. Swept past Bonditram like he was glued to the floor and meets him on the exact same weight terms here second-up. Love the turn of foot that she showed and from the draw should land in a very similar position in running. BONDITRAM has a senior rider going on and can box seat on the back of what looks a handy tempo. Right place, right time and was only three quarters of a length off her at the finish of that race. MAGALI MAGIC has been sparingly raced and does have a good turn of foot for this grade when on song. MISS VALMALENCO is produced first-up, no trial. Watch on the market for a big strike rate combination. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – THE MIGHTY BELL WIN Race 7 MERIVALE LOUVAIN won a Bunbury maiden at 1100m on debut and then went to a 2 year old Saturday when second behind In Good Nicc. Anyone watching the runs of In Good Nicc without luck in the Max Simmonds and Belgravia will be happy to follow that as a form reference and she looks nicely placed into a C1 at Bunbury on Cup Day. Trial may divide opinions – wasn’t as sharp as when she was a 2yo. HE’S A HUSTLER loomed large at his WA debut and then just peaked up late. Was also a heavy fence in run meeting so can also be forgiving that he was probably making his run in the worst part of the track. FREE TO FLY might find 1200m on the short side but she’s a mare they’ll have fun with. BUDINO won soft at Kalgoorlie and earned a trip home. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – MERIVALE LOUVAIN WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 6,8,9 4,5 1,3,4,7 2,7
