Glenn Ingram’s Thursday Flemington Preview Posted on November 3, 2026November 3, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram Race 1 (Wildcard) Speed comes from the SA visitors as well as SPEX, like the way RICK’S CAFE returned from a break caught wide early, pressed on and stuck on, first-up run was terrific against the race shape. Big odds, not hopeless. CERTAINLY QUIET has been freshened since winning fresh up at Bendigo, jumped out well leading in, has some quality and step up in distance suits. STUNG laboured the final 100m under the 60kg after leading up a solid speed at Geelong, was a month between runs so can forgive. SPEX had the pattern in favour at Horsham, going well enough to figure once more. Selections: 9,8,2,16 Suggested Bet: RICK’S CAFE 1 x 4 (Wildcard) Race 2 Sydney form to the fore in the greys race. YOU’RE NOT THE KING is a progressive 4YO well-placed to continue his winning form for the form yard. GETAFIX was well-backed to win this race last year and looking to repeat the effort, wide draw is the concern but world’s best in the saddle to overcome it. ALABAMA FOX is another drawn wide and does have tactical speed to take a spot early. SILVER DAGGER jumped out nicely at Mornington and ran a good race without much luck at Geelong. Among the minor hopes. Selections: 14,4,6,11 Suggested Bet: YOURE NOT THE KING win Race 3 Assuming BUCCLEUCH comes out as he’s engaged Tuesday, he would have taken a dominant position in the betting if he was here. JUST FOLK maps for a soft lead and that should be the plan and hard to beat off the front. FEROCE comes back to listed grade, he’s going ok and loves it at Flemington, good draw and top jock, time to stand up. TAVI TIME is third-up dropping in weight, very moderate race and if he’s ready to fire the market will find him. WARMONGER fresh off a long break will be hitting the line. Selections: 2,1,4,8 Suggested Bet: Exotics Race 4 Another wide open race, the theme of the day. SASS APPEAL is a query on recent form, she drops sharply in grade to a fillies & mares contest to find her best and come up with wide gate with her big weight, happy to watch and learn. GOLD MEDALLIST has her hoof on the till this campaign racing really well without landing a blow, won’t get a better opportunity than this over the carnival. NSW visitors hold the key to the speed with MISS HADES and PROBABILITY THEORY going forward, POLYMNIA looks to get the best run of the race if she’s good enough. Selections: 8,2,6,1 Suggested Bet: Exotics Race 5 (Best Value) A good betting race, two main chances. VEYEPEE is the pick of the locals, dropping in weight, got back last time and never a factor, suspect they go forward with Zac Lloyd from the inside and poses the biggest threat to PERISHER a progressive import for Ciaron Maher and put Nobler away at Rosehill first-up with a soft win, has tactical speed and James McDonald and is the one to beat. NOBLER was no match for the favourite, he’s every chance to improve into this among the wider hopes. FIORENOT has a tough draw and will be coming at them late. Selections: 12,9,6,7 Suggested Bet: VEYEPEE win and Quinella 9 & 12 Race 6 Plenty of speed expected with ROSA AOTEAROA likely leader and YAM coming across from a wide gate, ENDLESS SUMMER is also going forward. SULEK landed a second-up sting after getting too far back behind the former kiwi now a sub winner, he’s among the key winning chances. Big fan of NARAGHI, taken a while to mature show her best and was impressive winning first-up at Horsham taking leaders back and taking the gap. She maps for an identical run stepping up to this stronger race and a hope at bolters odds. Selections: 12,9,5,14 Suggested Bet: NARAGHI 1 x 4 Race 7 (Best Bet) SEQUINNED is clear horse to beat, carries his head high and does plenty wrong but his turn of foot is obvious and that’s what is needed in straight racing, drawn out with James McDonald, many positives, best on the card. Godolphin has a number of progressive types looking to make the leap into stakes racing including SEMANTICS dodged the impressive Aroused at Ballarat and won well at Bendigo, big step up, prefer to watch, CALAMARI RING has straight track experience and deserves respect, as does NISHIOKA who ran ok in the Crockett. Selections: 3,6,1,15 Suggested Bet: SEQUINNED win Race 8 Thin edition of the Oaks so the quick back-up by DE ARMAS is a logical one, stepped to the 2000m and won with a bit in hand in the Wakeful, she doesn’t look like a stayer but often the best horse in the race can get away with it. The form of PROXIMA DEA is outstanding for a race of this nature, another who may be a query at 2400m, class can take her a long way. REFUSE TO CURTSY may prove to be the best stayer in time, CHRUCHILL ROSE was game on-speed in the Wakeful, she’s tough and not without a hope. Selections: 4,1,12,7 Suggested Bet: DE ARMAS win Race 9 Another suitable race for CAVALRY GIRL having a super campaign, only blemish when she was knocked off in the G1 Moir. She has a great record at 1000m and two-time straight track winner, right draw but will cop pressure in the run from DON’T HOPE DO, BEV’S NINE and MARBLE NINE. The interesting runner from a speed map perspective is STOKKE ridden forward here to win last start. REY MAGNERIO has a low draw which has to be a concern, he’ll be charging at the speed late. Selections: 4,1,3,7 Suggested Bet: CAVALRY GIRL win MULTI: R2#14 win, R5#12 place, R7#3 win
