Scott Embry’s Sunday Albany Preview Posted on November 15, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PIP returns to the races in a 1000m scamper. The Albany Turf Club should be congratulated for the fields they’ve assembled on opening day. Arguably stronger than current provincials. PIP is a speedy customer who trialed the house down again. Should come out running and take beating. WE’VE GOT DREAMS only really knows one way. Likely ends up outside the leader and puts the pressure on. RUSH’N MACHINE is better suited back to the short course. SHAPE SHIFER should be doing her best late. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 2 – 12 Suggested Bet – PIP WIN Race 2 KRISTELLA is a nice pick up ride for Troy Turner on his venture south. Now in the care of a flying Tiarnna Robertson the recent form has been solid and never runs a bad race. Draws far better than recent assignments and should go close. PRIZED NEMESIS always seems to find a way to get beaten. Last start he looked like he was about to go past the eventual winner before copping a Byron Pickett and running second. BLACK MISSILE returned to racing well. RUSTY SPIRIT draws poorly but trialed fair. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 2 – 12 Suggested Bet – KRISTELLA WIN Race 3 ICE TRADE was kept very quiet at trials by Chris Parnahm and unleashed a big run first-up when missing narrowly behind Mini Winnie. Kyra Yuill is riding winners for fun at the minute and this looks a deep but winnable race. SNITITUDE trialed like a hose who would be winning on debut. Came down the outside with a huge turn of foot at Lark Hill. Interesting to see if she can produce it on race day. MR MT WALKER was well thought of on debut and now has shades on first time. TOO FAT TOO SLOW will get out over further but parks on speed and takes running down. Numbers: 8 – 12 – 11 – 3 Suggested Bet – ICE TRADE WIN Race 4 OVERTRHONE looks to have this race at her mercy. Has to lump 59.5 but the maiden win was strong at York and she backed it up with a brave second placing to the talented Devoted Star. Leads or sits outside the leader and should go close. RAGING ROCKET ran well first-up and almost held off Willow River in a reasonable C1 at Barker. PROPELLER is green as grass but clearly has a bit of a motor. DYNAMITE BAY showed a bit on debut and then wasn’t sighted until recapturing a bit first-up. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – OVERTRHONE WIN Race 5 NICE GO took a while to break maiden status but has shown glimpses of ability in the past. Recent 1450 trial finished alongside Mississippi Delta and was a better trial than Kal Cup winner Spiritual Warrior. Interestingly the blinkers come off for race day. TAMPERING FALLS will be hard to run down if Laqdar Ramoly is able to clear them out and cross down to the fence. WAR CLASS was a shade disappointing at Barker, can rebound here. CALBANESCO enjoys the run of the race from the inside. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – NICE GO WIN Race 6 STORMY RULER absolutely bolted in last start when given a peach by Chris Parnham. Harry Grace has his work cut out for him from gate 8 but he does have tactical speed if they elect to use it. Versatile type who should prove hard to beat. ZETORIO is the most talented horse in the field. If he can reproduce some of his early 3 year old form he’ll charge late. LITTLE PUNGA is ever consistent and runs along in front. WAR KSAR trialed well for his return. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet – STORMY RULER WIN Race 7 READ THE RIOT ACT was the find of the season for Roy Rogers last campaign. Went through the grades quickly and raced both on and off speed. From the draw Turner has options and while he will undoubtedly need luck he can still win this. IT’S NOT TRADING only knows one way and that’s to run. SPEED BANDIT always goes well fresh and scored at Barker. Can continue on here. MAGIC OPUS draws wide, goes back and comes with a sustained run. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 15 – 11 Suggested Bet – READ THE RIOT ACT WIN Race 8 TANGO ORA returns to the races first-up without a trial. He is a metro horse when right and if he is tuned up for this he’ll take serious beating. Can cross them from the outside gate if Grace elects to put the foot down and should be right in the finish. EXCISE FREE has really hit form with two solid wins back to back when sitting just off the leaders heels which is exactly where she looks like being in the run here. TRANSGRESSSOR looks well placed in the c70+ grade. CANDLELIGHT STAR lumps an incredible 64kg but he is so consistent. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – TANGO ORA WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,5,6 1,5,7,10 2,6,11,14,15 4,5,8 Market Market
