Strong Prentice Representation In Two-Year-Old Classic Posted on April 22, 2016 | Posted by Julio Santarelli Justin Prentice intends to take full advantage of barrier one when he combines with Let It Roll in the $100,000 final of the Clipsal By Schneider Electric Sales Classic for two-year-old colts and geldings (1730m) at Gloucester Park on Friday night. “Both times he has led in his trials he has won convincingly and I think I will be doing everything I can to hold the front,” Prentice said on Tabradio. Prentice is happy to concede Let It Roll was disappointing in last Friday’s heat when soundly beaten for fourth behind The Real Ideal. But the Bunbury trainer-driver said conditions of the race didn’t suit the bay colt and he urged supporters to rule a line through the run. “I was quite disappointed by the run and he didn’t feel the same horse that ran second the start before,” Prentice said. “I just don’t think he handled the wet track and didn’t show a hell of a lot of gate speed. “He never really travelled at all in the run so I think the wet sticky track didn’t suit.” Prentice considers the Peter Anderson-trained, The Real Ideal, as the biggest threat to, Let It Roll, but issued a warning to punters. The Real Ideal is out to build on his strong debut when he set the pace for Chris Lewis and won his heat by a comfortable eight metres. “To run time on that track was impressive and he looks a natural,” Prentice said. “But it’s only his second start and it’s easy for a two-year-old to go out and lead and get it their own way. “It could be a different story if he has to do it a bit hard.” From barrier one The Real Ideal rated 1.59.1 when defeating Sergeant Oats and Our Perkins. The son of American Ideal, to be driven by Ryan Warwick, has been dealt barrier five in the final. Doalittlerocknroll and Betshes Precious give Prentice strong representation in the Clipsal By Schneider Electric Sales Classic for two-year-old fillies (1730m). Prentice gives the nod to Doalittlerocknroll who has drawn barrier three and warmed up with a sound second to Beach Goddess in last week’s heat. “The draw favours Doalittlerocknroll the most and we will be doing everything we can to find the front,” Prentice said. “She should prove hard to beat on her last effort.” Betshes Precious is unbeaten from her two starts and looks a talent in the making, but faces a test after drawing barrier eight. “She is definitely one of our best fillies who is doing everything right,” Prentice said. “She definitely has the ability to win, but the draw hurts her a fair bit. “It will depend on how it is run early on.” Prentice will sit behind Doalittlerocknroll. Brayden Green drives Betshes Precious.
