Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on February 28, 2023February 28, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 BEAUTY RISING held her ground ok after missing the start in the fillies Blue Diamond Prelude, her debut run was good and she looks hard to beat. CELESTIAL STORM will be hard fit for her latest run at 1300m and may roll forward. SUBRISING ran ok on debut behind Beauty Rising. FOREVER MORE hit the line well on debut over 1000m and looks suited stepping up in trip. Selections: 1,7,6,3 Suggested Bet: Beauty Rising to win Race 2 MAGARTEN resumes following some encouraging trials and jumpouts and appears suited at 1300m. ZOUPURRING worked home strongly over 1200m on debut and should appreciate the extra 100m. VANBRUGH CASTLE showed talent in his first racing preparation and has jumped out nicely. GUSMAO was only narrowly beaten when well backed first up. Selections: 5,9,8,2 Suggested Bet: Magarten each way Race 3 RED SUN SENSATION was competitive at a high level last campaign and has jumped out well to resume at 1400m. SPIRIT BEAST had no luck first up but worked through the line well when finally clear. COLOMBE D’OR has been racing well, albeit not meeting market expectations this preparation. GENERAL FIREPOWER was poor first up but is better than that and gets a tongue tie on. OUR WARRIOR won his maiden well last time. Selections: 1,5,8,2 Suggested Bet: Quinella/Exacta 1 & 5 Race 4 ACCUSE seems to appreciate having his runs spaced and appeals as one of the main chances in an even race. He should get every chance from the draw. DUKE OF HASTINGS stuck on well last time, expect him to be ridden a bit further back and be hitting the line strongly. TYCOON BEC held on ok in a tough staying test and her latest run. SIGN SEAL DELIVER and PRINCETON AWARD have claims. Selections: 6,4,3,5 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples with 6,4 & 3 Race 5 MR I’M A BELIEVER looks a promising stayer and should appreciate getting out to 2400m. FREEDOM ESCAPE chased Mr I’m a Believer over 2040m two starts back and has run well at 2500m since. COMMANDO DRIFT gets a few gear changes and a claim, it would be no surprise to see her ridden positively. RAPINOE hit the line strongly in the same race as Freedom Escape last start. Selections: 5,2,10,12 Suggested Bet: Mr I’m a Believer to win Race 6 THREE RINGS gets blinkers first time, he caught the eye in a leader dominated race first up shapes as the one to beat. BLOOD OATH stuck on well in a high pressure race last time and drops in grade. VIENTAINE appeared to have her chance last start but also gets blinkers. SQUAMI was beaten by a smart one at his most recent run. MELANIE draws for a good run behind what should be a solid tempo. Selections: 9,1,10,4 Suggested Bet: Three Rings to win Race 7 UNUSUAL CULTURE has returned well and should be close to peak fitness third up. CAP DE JOIE has trialled well to resume, she is likely to settle back in the field but will be charging home. BOSS QUEEN bounced back last start and may push forward to offset the draw. FANCYLANSKI is racing well in slightly easier grade. NICCOLITE is on trial at 1400m but worked home well over 1300m last time. Selections: 5,1,6,8 Suggested Bet: Quinella/Exacta 5 & 1 Race 8 Competitive finish with a number of different form lines converging. DASHING competed well at the elite level during the spring and stuck on bravely after a tough run first up. He should get a softer run from a good draw. SAILORS BOOK is one of a number impressive last start maiden winners with plenty of upside. CEERSEVEN also fits that category, he charged through the line to win on debut over 1300m. BLACKMAX should appreciate firmer ground and dropping back to 1600m. ROCKET SCIENTIST, RUNNING ON TIME and SOREL RISING are in the mix. Selections: 3,13,6,1 Suggested Bet: Dashing each way Market Market
