Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Geelong Preview Posted on January 3, 2023January 3, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 MONKS made good late ground last start and may settle closer, the rise in distance looks suitable. CHARMED DESTINY beat Monks home in that race and has obvious claims. YANKEE ZULU appears suited stepping up in trip on a spacious track. XYLINA WARRIOR and IRISH KNIGHT, who is likely to ride the speed, have claims. Selections: 9,2,6,8 Suggested Bet: Monks each way Race 2 Potentially a strong maiden. DISPUTED RIVER has jumped out well alongside Bagot winner San Huberto. MR I’M A BELIEVER has also jumped out well to resume and was unlucky not to win on debut. MAC KALHOUN closed off strongly on debut and looks suited by the rise in trip on a big track. KOKONOTSU is race fit and gives the indication that 1700m will be suitable. Selections: 1,4,3,9 Suggested Bet: Disputed River each way Race 3 Competitive maiden. LONFIRE stuck on well behind a talented filly on debut and the form from that race has been strong. WOKE WAITER has had a another run since finishing alongside Lonfire and gets blinkers on. LET’S ROLL has been jumping out ok to resume and is likely to roll forward from the wide draw. ALBANIAN BAY will strip fitter and looks another key speed influence. OLIGARCHY didn’t have the clearest passage on debut and looks suited stepping up to 1400m. PATRICK and QUADALETTE has jumped out nicely to debut. Selections: 3,8,2,4 Suggested Bet: Lonfire each way Race 4 INDIFFERENCE looks hard to beat in a strong BM64. He had no luck in a slowly run race last start. EURO DANDY has returned in good form and comes through some strong races in the same grade this preparation. EL CORDOBES ran well first up, he looks suited stepping up to 1500m. MAGNETIC PRINCE didn’t have much luck second up and should also appreciate 1500m. TRODAIRE and GIRELLO have claims. Selections: 6,4,1,7 Suggested Bet: Indifference to win Race 5 VADABOY should be suited by what appears to be a solid tempo. He covered extra ground at Kyneton last start and looks well placed getting out to this trip on a spacious track. PRINCETON AWARD won in good style last start and that form has held up well. ADONIS KICK will be part of the speed and is racing in great form. AQUILA VOLARE was no match for Adonis Kick last time, a more solid tempo would be in his favour. Selections: 7,3,1,2 Suggested Bet: Vadaboy each way Race 6 Strong 3yo BM64 with plenty of winning chances. FREEWAYS is one of a few that have been jumping out nicely to resume. STUPENDO is another to be jumping out well, he resumes gelded. MT NISEKO has also been jumping out well and is a winner here. BAHAMA BAY is race fit and stuck on ok in a strong race last start. BLACKMAX, EVERYLITTLE BREEZE and MISS MAGNIFICO are in the mix in a deep race. Selections: 9,1,6,2 Suggested Bet: Freeways each way Race 7 Another competitive race. PERUSAL looks to be coming to hand well through his recent jumpouts. SAVVY SOVEREIGN is race fit and will make his own luck. FARHH FLUNG looks to be jumping out nicely and kicks off at a suitable trip. SACHEM has been jumping out ok without his race day blinkers. SEBASTIAN THE FOX was good first up and that form has held up well. If he’s still sharp enough for 1300m then he’s right in it. MR INVINCIBLE had no luck in the same race as Sebastian the Fox last start. Selections: 10,6,12,5 Suggested Bet: Perusal each way Race 8 GRAND POPE has been a little frustrating for punters, but he has jumped out quite well and strikes a suitable race to resume in. GRINZINGER PRINCE didn’t have much luck last start and the form around him is strong. JAMARRA resumes gelded and has been jumping out nicely. His two year old form reads well for this. TRAMONTANA, ROSALIA, HEAD FIRST and PINNACE have some claims. Selections: 3,4,9,5 Suggested Bet: Grand Pope each way Market Market
