Warren Huntly’s Saturday Sandown Preview Posted on February 10, 2023February 10, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 PRINCETON AWARD gets some weight relief after hitting the line strongly behind WAHINE TOA in a slightly easier race last start. SO UNUSUAL has shown a degree of versatility in his last two victories and was able to hold off Wahine Toa at his latest win. GLENTANEOUS might be looking for this trip now. MEINER LEGACY is a strong stayer that has been freshened. Selections: 13,6,7,11 Suggested Bet: Princeton Award each way Race 2 PERICLES has trialled well to resume and came a long way in his first preparation. THE FORTUNE TELLER also came a long way in his first campaign and has looked good in his recent jumpouts. AMENABLE has also been jumping out well and his form ties in with The Fortune Teller. CALICO JACK has race fitness and will make his own luck. Selections: 4,3,5,6 Suggested Bet: Pericles each way Race 3 BARBER has looked good in his two wins to date and trialled in great style to resume. BRAVE HALO has looked outstanding in WA and has won a trial over a short course in preparation for his trip East. LITTLE BROSE in building a good record and has also trialled well to resume, he should relish 1100m. GANGITANO chased well behind Little Brose on debut, he has also jumped out nicely and should appreciate 1100m. Selections: 1,3,2,7 Suggested Bet: Working around 1 & 3 in multiples Race 4 CHARM STONE has looked to pick of the local 2yo fillies seen to date and has jumped out in terrific fashion to resume. CIGAR FLICK comes through a strong Sydney 2yo event and has a race fitness advantage. DE SONIC BOOM impressed weaving through the field to win the Preview on debut and looks suited by the extra 100m. SHADDOW FEAR has been winning well in WA and gets winkers on. Selections: 1,8,2,5 Suggested Bet: Charm Stone to win Race 5 Competitive race. DUSSE was arguable unlucky behind the flying Jigsaw last start and has jumped out well between runs. LACED UP HEELS has recorded the only victory over Amelia’s Jewel in WA and covered ground when running second as favourite at her subsequent start. RICH FORTUNE has plenty of upside, her win at Moonee Valley had plenty of merit and she has jumped out impressively since. SHE DANCES is flying and will likely roll forward from the draw. Most others have some claims in a deep race. Selections: 13,6,12,9 Suggested Bet: Dusse each way Race 6 UNCOMMON JAMES is building an impressive record and has trialled in great style to resume. The same could be said for CHAIN OF LIGHTNING, who has shown tactical versatility in her career to date. LOFTY STRIKE is another with plenty of upside that has jumped out in good style to resume. TRIPLE MISSILE will be beaten for speed but will appreciate the long run home and will be charging late. Selections: 5,6,12,9 Suggested Bet: Uncommon James to win Race 7 I’M THUDERSTRUCK will probably be giving the leaders a start turning for home but his recent trial indicates he has returned in outstanding order. He’s a proven G1 WFA performer with a good first up record. JACQUINOT displayed a great will to win first up. His form against his own age has been outstanding and his run in The Everest is strong pointer to him measuring up here. GENTELMAN ROY is rising in grade but looks the likely leader and is capable of giving a sight. MR BRIGHTSIDE has very similar form lines to I’m Thunderstruck and has trialled well to resume. TUVALA get blinkers on and will be part of the speed with Gentleman Roy. Selections: 1,10,7,2 Suggested Bet: I’m Thunderstruck each way Race 8 SUNSHINE RISING has trialled in great style since his last run and there is plenty of merit in his two local runs since arriving from Hong Kong. CORNER POCKET gets a significant weight turnaround on POUNDING, both horses are fit and racing in great form. DAQIANSWEET JUNIOR will bet better over further but he has jumped put well and will be charging late. Stablemates CROSSHAVEN and SO SI BON have claims. Selections: 6,5,12,2 Suggested Bet: Sunshine Rising each way Race 9 Tough finish. HERE TO SHOCK can get very hot on race day, he’s jumped out well between runs and the ear muffs stays on during the race here. SAVAHHAH CLOUD stuck on well after setting a sold tempo last start, he can’t be improving but continues to race in great form. MUNHAMEK comes through the same race as Savannah Cloud and maps for a good run. FLASH FLOOD comes through an easier race first up but is sure to strip fitter and is a previous second up winner. There wasn’t much between BLOW IN and DAILY BUGLE last time and they are both in the mix in an open race. Selections: 3,1,4,9 Suggested Bet: Here to Shock each way Market Market
