Warren Huntly’s Saturday Moonee Valley Preview Posted on September 2, 2022September 2, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 MAJOR BEEL brings some solid Sydney form and can make his own luck. CASTILLIAN all but won a similar race last start and handled the track well. FNAL OVERTURE was on debut in the same race as Castillian and ran ok. He had trialled impressively leading in to that run. RED SUN SENSATION and BIG STORY both won their maiden in good style last start and look capable of measuring up. Selections: 2,1,6,5 Suggested Bet: Major Beel each way Race 2 MOHICAN HEIGHTS should be close to peak fitness and his last two runs in this distance range have been solid. He looks ready to win. His stablemate DESERT ICON backs up quickly and should appreciate the rise in distance and the drop in grade. IRISH FLAME has improved at each run this prep and should be fit enough to set a solid tempo on speed. PRIX DE TURN did enough first up and will appreciate the rise in distance. Selections: 6,3,4,8 Suggested Bet: Mohican Heights each way Race 3 A lot of different form lines converging. AMENABLE was spelled after a strong maiden win and has jumped out well to resume. SHALAMAN has race fitness and is building a good record. He will give a great sight on speed. MERIDIUS gets blinkers first time, he has jumped out in good style to resume following his maiden win. SEBONACK was slowly away in the Rosebud and under the circumstances ran well, winkers go on. MILLANE and SIR JUGGERNAUT have claims in a deep race. Selections: 8,4,11,1 Suggested Bet: Amenable each way Race 4 Selections: Small field and likely to be a tactical affair. MR BRIGHTSIDE has tactical versatility and a great winning habit. He should settle right on the speed and has a fitness advantage over his rivals who are all resuming. EARLSWOOD won well at his first Australian start and has jumped out well to resume. He may also roll forward. FORGOT YOU faces his toughest test to date but is unbeaten here and has been jumping out nicely. INSPIRATIONAL GIRL might need some luck from the draw but she is jumping out well and will be hitting the line strongly. Selections: 2,4,5,6 Suggested Bet: MR BRIGHTSIDE to win Race 5 COOLANGATTA’s only defeat to date came in the Golden Slipper and her recent jumpout was outstanding. She takes on older gallopers for the first time but with 50kg looks hard to beat. Her stablemate AWAY GAME has been a constant in these races in recent times, she has trialled up well and gets blinkers back on. IN THE CONGO may be better suited over slightly further but has trialled well and is likely to be ridden with plenty of intent. THE INFERNO will watch the speed battle up front unfold and be storming home. Selections: 7,5,2,1 Suggested Bet: Coolangatta to win Race 6 Even race with plenty of chances. I’MLOVIN’YA hit the line well first up and will appreciate stepping up to 1200m. Through that form line LADY LAGUNA did some work in the run and still battled on well. TROACH has race fitness and will make her own luck. NANAGUI is one of many with plenty of upside and defied the pattern to break her maiden last start. She has a tricky draw but J.Kah to help offset that. VA VIA, BOOGIE DANCER, REVOLUTIONARY MISS and PORTRAY all have claims Selections: 3,4,6,9 Suggested Bet: Working around 3,4,6,9 in multiples Race 7 Another wide race. RANGES is most consistent and is hard fit. He doesn’t have to get too far off them from the inside draw. CORNER POCKET is building an impressive record. He goes well first up and has been jumping out nicely. WANDABAA brings some solid interstate form and handles all conditions. The same could be said for her stablemate ENCHANTED HEART. GRAVINA has trialled well. He generally runs well first up and should be competitive if he gains a start. Selections: 4,7,5,15 Suggested Bet: Ranges each way Race 8 UNCLE BRYN ran well in stronger company first up and looks destined to progress to better races. MILTARY EXPERT was well supported and positively ridden to win first up last start. He should strip fitter and prove hard to get past once again. ROUSSEAU doesn’t wan it too wet but looked to be going very well leading in to his first up run on heavy ground. SHOT OF IRISH seems to have lost a bit of his early dash but worked home well first up and will strip fitter. MAYFAIR SPIRIT was well ridden to win an easier race here last start and has some claims as does SO SI BON. Selections: 5,6,7,9 Suggested Bet: Uncle Bryn to win Race 9 Track conditions could be crucial in this race. If UNUSUAL CULTURE can take advantage of a favourable draw she should prove hard to beat. Her recent efforts running on from back in the field have been encouraging. GLOBAL GIFT is going well for the new stable and will make his own luck. Stablemates ATTRACTABLE and POUNDING can both win but they would like the track to firm up from the current soft 6 rating. UNANIMOUS will strip fitter third up and has been placed at 1600m. MARK OF THE MAN covered ground last time and ran well under the circumstances. He likes it wet. Selections: 15,4,13,7 Suggested Bet: Unusual Culture each way Market Market
