Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on November 8, 2024November 8, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 ANGLAND looks hard to beat. He got blinkers and a confidence boost in SA and should get a nice run stalking the speed. NATION’S CALL is an import building a handy record and will make his own luck. GOOD BANTER is a likely improver from the inside draw, after covering ground in a stronger race in Sydney. CEERSEVEN will strip fitter third up and that form ties in FARHH FLUNGH, who closed off ok first up but weighed in light in the same race. Selections: 9,1,10,6 Suggested Bet: Angland to win Race 2 Plenty to learn. CHISHOLM improved nicely into her second trial and appears to have early speed. BUBION has race experience and closed off well at Caulfield. LATIN BOSS and WITHIN THE LAW appear to be debutants with early speed but all the other have shown something at trials/jumpouts. Selections: 8,5,3,11 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn Race 3 KINESIOLOGY was scratched from an easier race earlier in the week to be reserved for this and his international form reads well. BERKELEY SQUARE is racing in great form and his closing effort in the Bendigo Cup indicates 2600m should be ok. AMADE is racing in terrific form for an older galloper and is suited stepping up in trip from the Geelong Cup. STAR VEGA and I’M A DIRTY RASCAL both hit the line strongly in the Bendigo Cup and have a case. SERPENTINE will give s sight riding the speed. Selections: 7,2,3,8 Suggested Bet: Kinesiology to win Race 4 NADAL improved nicely second up and may be drawn the right part of the track. REY MAGNERIO has been frustratingly close of late but is racing in great heart and has obvious claims again. RED HOT NICC races well here and was responsible for an encouraging return at Moonee Valley. FRONT PAGE was brave first up and is sure to give them something to chase. Selections: 9,4,7,1 Suggested Bet: Nadal to win Race 5 FIRESTORM was never in a good spot when a short-priced fav at Moonee Valley and looks better suited at Flemington. HINGED didn’t appear to have any excuses last start. She needs that nest win but is well graded under the weight scale. PRIVATE LEGACY comes through the Firestorm race and wouldn’t be surprised to see her ridden a little colder. QUICKSTER should appreciate the rise in distance. Selections: 14,7,10,6 Suggested Bet: Firestorm each way Same Race Multi: Firestorm (Top 2) + Private Legacy (Top 4) Race 6 Gret race. GIGA KICK looked back to his best in The Everest and should be further improved. OVERPASS is a winner here. He impressed in the Sydney Stakes and could well have been a factor if he gained an Everest slot. BELLA NIPOTINA is a marvel and although her Flemington record doesn’t read well she has performed well in Lightnings and Newmarkets. SUNSHINE IN PARIS is racing well and has the Bella Nipotina form. BELLATRIX STAR was terrific in the Coolmore and gets the weight advantage. BARAQIEL faces his toughest test to date but his last start victory gives him some chance. Selections: 1,2,5,6 Suggested Bet: Giga Kick each way Race 7 FANGIRL needs a few things to go right to be at her brilliant best but this may set up well for her on likely firm ground. BROADSIDING rallied late in an epic Cox Plate and should be strong late coming back to 1600m. ANTINO was breathtaking in the Toorak and measured up at WFA prior. ANOTHER WIL bounced back last start after a below par run in the Toorak. PRIDE OF JENNI and MR BRIGHTSIDE are the G1 benchmark horses in this distance range and are right in the game if the Cox Palte hasn’t taken too much out of them. Selections: 10,13,4,6 Suggested Bet: Fangirl each way Race 8 VIA SISTINA was just awesome in the Cox Plate and it’s hard to see her being beaten if she’s anywhere near that level again. ATISHU may be the danger if there is one du to her overall quality and Flemington record. ROYAL CHAMPION will be approaching peak fitness and can make his own luck on speed. ELIYASS and DENY KNOWLEDGE will also be part of the speed but look place hopes at best. Selections: 10,11,8,6 Suggested Bet: Via Sistina to win Race 9 Impossible finish! KEENAN has trialled well to resume and can make his own luck. PISANELLO will be hard to beat with any luck from the inside draw. KIKO has trialled well to resume and is effective first up. ALONG THE RIVER is fit, flying and likely drawn the right part of the track. DUAL PRESSURE covered ground last time and her previous run behind Isthmus reads well. Selections: 5,10,12,4 Suggested Bet: Keenan each way Market Market
