Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on November 25, 2022November 25, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 CYLINDER flashed home after settling back in the field from a wide draw on debut. GANGITANO won a recent jumpout in good style and looks a ready made 2yo. REMEDIES controlled her race to win well on debut albeit only running modest time. HYDROGEN POWER is another to win a jumpout well leading in to his debut. LITTLE BROSE and BONA FIDE STAR have some claims. Selections: 2,7,10,9 Suggested Bet: Cylinder to win Race 2 Even race. AURORA’S SYMPHONY ran well in the Geelong Cup and pulled up with a slow recovery last start. TEAM CAPTAIN, GOOD IDEA, PROTECTION MONEY and PAPPALINO all come through the same race as Aurora’s Symphony and there appears to be little between them. Pappalino possibly the most disadvantaged by a firmer surface? Selections: 2,4,3,8 Suggested Bet: Aurora’s Symphony each way Race 3 GENERAL BEAU strikes a relatively firm surface for the first time this preparartion and has jumped out well between runs. BRUCKNER is resuming from a lengthy spell but comes through some strong form lines and has been trialling well. JIGSAW resumed with a strong on speed win at Cranbourne and looks like he’s come back to something like his best form. STREETCAR STRANGER will appreciate a firmer surface and will be strong late. ROSE QUARTZ might be better over slightly longer but has jumped out well between runs and likes firm ground. Selections: 2,1,7,4 Suggested Bet: General Beau each way Race 4 GREY RIVER is racing in great form, she gets winkers on and could offset her wide draw with her early speed. THE UNICORN led to win her maiden in dominant fashion last start and will be part of the speed again. GET UP GIRL will probably go back from the draw but will be charging home with BELMIA. NAICONI has returned in good form but did have the pattern to suit when defeating Belmia last start. Selections: 2,12,9,13 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples with 2,12,9 & 13 Race 5 LITERARY MAGNATE has returned in great form and should be suited by what appears to be a decent tempo. NORWEGIAN BLISS keeps finding a way to win, she’s been well placed to date but looks likely to measure up. CROSSHAVEN chased a hot speed set by POLAND last start and both have claims. I’d expect Crosshaven to be ridden to bit more conservatively here. If STREETS OF AVALON can get back near his best form, he’d be the one to beat. Selections: 7,8,3,5 Suggested Bet: Quinellas/Exactas with 7,8 & 3 Race 6 Competitive race with a solid tempo likely. GRANDSLAM ran well first up and looks to be part of the speed. His dry ground form is solid and he’s suited by the rise in trip. MILFORD could be a blowout chance at odds, he’s had excuses lately and likes racing here. FLASH FEELING won well stepping from 1400-2000m last start and you would think he’s strip even fitter. FRENCH EMPEROR is racing in great form and should be suited with a strong tempo up front. KEATS is flying for the new stable and should give a great sight. Selections: 1,2,12,9 Suggested Bet: Grandslam each way Race 7 LUNCIES has been racing in good form and was beaten by a highly promising galloper last start. He maps for a great run. VOW AND DECLARE was ok in the Melbourne Cup and is much better suited on firmer ground. SOUND won this race last year and his recent form is solid. PERSAN and GREAT HOUSE come through the same race as Sound and have claims. Selections: 9,1,3,4 Suggested Bet: Luncies each way Race 8 If THE FORTUNE TELLER can hold his form for another run in his first racing preparation, he looks the one to beat. His runs in the Caulfield Guineas and Carbine Club appeal as the right form for this. KINGS CONSORT backs up from Ballarat last week, he doesn’t have a lot of early speed but looks suited out to 1600m. SEE YOU IN HEAVEN didn’t have much luck last start, she’s giving the impression that 1600m will be ok. ANGRY SKIES was below his best last start but his previous form gives him a hope. ATMOSPHERE will give a sight on speed. Selections: 3,1,13,9 Suggested Bet: The Fortune Teller each way Race 9 ROOTS looks well placed to win again. She had no luck behind MY WHISPER, who shapes as one of the main dangers, two starts back and chased hard to win last start. My Whisper drops back from Group 1 company and is drawn for a better run. MAC ‘N’ CHEESE will be hitting the line strongly and looks suited stepping up to 1600m. TOREGENE rises in grade but is building a good record and won well at this trip last start. SUR LA MER has a bit of ground to make up on ROOTS but has claims. Selections: 8,3,5,7 Suggested Bet: Roots to win Market Market
