Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on July 12, 2024July 12, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 ENNA’S DREAM flashed home fresh over 1200m and looks hard to beat stepping back up 1400m. MISS ROUMBINI shapes as a strong danger, she’s in a rich vein of form and overcame difficulties to win again last time. INTO YOU has some upside and has jumped out ok to resume. LOVAZOU had to trial/jump out to regain her barrier certificate after her last start win and has some gear changes to help her at the barriers. Selections: 2,1,3,4 Suggested Bet: Enna’s Dream to win Race 2 EL ROCKO races best when he gets his toe in the ground and is likely to have conditions to suit. HE’S BESET may need some luck from the draw but he has a degree of tactical versatility and B.Shinn. RICK’S CAFE has jumped out well and her first up record is better than it reads. STEP ASIDE probably doesn’t want it too wet but if the stable leave him in I’d take that as a positive lead. Selections: 7,11,17,14 Suggested Bet: El Rocko each way Race 3 Competitive two year old race. TURBINADO has jumped out nicely to kick off his second campaign. JUST LIKE GABY stretched out well to win a Sydney trial. ON DISPLAY and MANOLO BLING have both looked good at the jumpouts. KAMLIMNA VIEWS and FLYING STRAZ have race experience and have been jumping out ok to resume. HUSK had some excuses last start. Selections: 5,12,18,17 Suggested Bet: Turbinado each way Race 4 REZONE is still a maiden but if he can reproduce his latest effort he looks the one to beat. MATUSALEM will strip fitter third up and will appreciate the rise in distance. PURE GRUNT broke his maiden in good style last time, he gets blinkers on and also gives the impression he’ll appreciate stepping up to this trip. BOGA LEGEND may have had excuses last time and gets another go at 2000m. Selections: 3,1,6,7 Suggested Bet: Rezone to win Race 5 FAGIN comes through a key lead up race and was the best of the horses that were near enough to a strong tempo. LITTLE JACK won that race and is building a handy record. GOLDEN CRUSADER probably went too hard in that race and will strip fitter for it. DESPERADO won well last start and gets claim. JABBAWOCKEEZ, UNANIMOUS and TORRANZINO have claims. Selections: 17,10,8,3 Suggested Bet: Fagin each way Same Race Multi: Fagin (Top 2) + Little Jack (Top 4) Race 6 LAUDING will be better over further but has been jumping out well and appears to be on the sharp side first up. NATION’S CALL appears to have acclimatised well, he’ll make his own luck and looks capable of measuring up to this grade. PRINCE OF HELENA brings strong form through Munhamek form and gets a claim. TOBAYSURE will strip fitter for an encouraging return and is suited by the step up to 1700m. The imported ALDER has jumped out quite well. Selections: 11,15,3,5 Suggested Bet: Lauding each way Race 7 OAK HILL didn’t cope with the straight course last start, but his previous runs were explosive and he should appreciate getting back around a bend. MAJOR SHARE is racing through the grade in great style and the form around him is holding up well. GITALONG will strip fitter for a sold return. MARBLE NINE is fit and racing well. VEECEE has been trialling ok to resume as a gelding. Selections: 3,6,1,10 Suggested Bet: Oak Hill each way Race 8 MORNINGTON GLORY made significant progress last prep and has jumped out with some intent for this first up assignment. ASHFORD STREET is going great for the new stable and copped some interference at a crucial stage last time. RECOMMENDATION generally runs well first up and has jumped out nicely behind Mornington Glory. MRS CHRISSIE is fit and in-form. Selections: 3,1,2,5 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples with 3,1 & 2 Race 9 RHEINBERG and ST LAWRENCE come through a key form race and look strong winning chances again. St Lawrence gets a weight advantage from that race. BLAZE A TRAIL didn’t get clear in a stakes race first up and looks well placed with blinkers back on, dropping in grade with a claim. CHORLTON LANE was well backed behind Rheinberg and St Lawrence last time and would appreciate a drying track. Selections: 4,8,1,6 Suggested Bet: Rheinberg to win Market Market
