Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 27, 2019December 27, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 VALBONNE (5) performed well in top 4YO company when finishing just behind the placegetters before facing the breeze when 5th to Kingslayer. This looks an easier assignment and he should be in the firing line throughout. ALWAYS AN HONOUR (6) has won two of his last three starts and looks the main danger despite a somewhat awkward draw. BLACK MAGIC MARA (2) led throughout here last week and must be considered again. BRACKEN SKY (11) is racing consistently and can be in the money if the race is tun to suit. Tips: 5 6 2 11 Suggested Bet: VALBONNE (5) to win. Race 2 CONVERT DENARIO (3) followed a great 2nd in the Bunbury Cup with a strong 2nd here after facing the breeze. He disappointed in strong company last start but drops significantly in class tonight and looks the one to beat. COMMANDER CHAPEL (2) has been unplaced at his six starts back from a spell but has the hood added tonight and could be a big improver. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (11) will strip fitter after two runs back from a spell and should enjoy a nice run in the moving line. BLACK JACK ZAC (1) can be placed from the pole. Tips: 3 2 11 1 Suggested Bet: AS HAPPY AS LARRY (11) each way. Race 3 GEE JAY KAY (10) has been working hard in the top 4YO races and will appreciate a massive drop in class here. He isn’t suited by the backline draw and sprint trip but will be hard to beat with any luck in running. ZENNART (1) has been unplaced in all four starts this campaign but draws to lead and should give a great sight. MCARDLES GEM (2) has won two of his last three starts in easier company and can figure again from this barrier. ROCK ME OVER (11) is better suited over longer journeys but can be in the money again. Tips: 10 1 2 11 Suggested Bet: GEE JAY KAY (10) to win. Race 4 BILL HALEY (1) has only been seen in a sit-sprint capacity in WA but he has a great record when leading and looks the one to beat from the pole. IDEAL LINER (6) was a solid 3rd in 1.53.5 here last week and will be better suited by tonight’s distance. IM FULL OF EXCUSES (2) has trialled nicely for his return and can play a past from this draw. WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (8) was a slashing 2nd here last week but the wide draw makes it tough. Tips: 1 6 2 8 Suggested Bet: BILL HALEY (1) to win. Race 5 HERRICK ROOSEVELT (1) resumed when leading and finishing a close up 3rd to VULTAN TIN (9). He will be fitter for that effort and will be hard to catch over the sprint trip. ANA MALAK (3) has been placed at three of his five starts this time in and should enjoy a nice run in transit from this draw. MIGHTY CONQUEROR (11) did things wrong again last start but looks a major player if he puts it altogether tonight. ROCKNROLL LINCOLN (7) will strip fitter for his first-up 3rd but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 1 3 11 7 Suggested Bet: HERRICK ROOSEVELT (1) to win. Race 6 MR SUNDON (2) created a big impression at his first start in WA with a 30m win here on Monday. He is the best drawn of the main chances and looks the one to beat. LORD LIAM (7) has won nine of his past 11 starts and has the gate speed to overcome the wide draw. TOKYO JOE (12) has impressed in winning two of his last three starts and should figure in the finish. ROCK TONIGHT (8) has hit his straps and looks the only other winning chance. Tips: 2 7 5 4 Suggested Bet: MR SUNDON (2) to win. Race 7 STAR ARMBRO (1) has been racing consistently and gets his chance from the pole. He is likely to press for an all-the-way victory but can still run a race if crossed at the start. MON LILLIES (2) loves the sprint trip and looks a major player based on her consecutive 2nds two and three starts back. OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (6) would be better suited over a staying journey but comes into play if they fly early. SALEAHS COMMAND (5) is another suited at the trip but probably needs to find the front to be a winning chance. Tips: 1 2 6 5 Suggested Bet: STAR ARMBRO (1) to win. Race 8 CULPEKA (10) raced in top company in NZ and has impressed with a solid 3rd to Its Rock And Roll followed by a 1.54.5 victory at Pinjarra. He has an awkward draw to overcome and will need some luck but is the best horse in the field. ROCKMENOW (1) has breezed and been placed at his past two starts and should give a great sight from the pole. LA SULIEMAN (2) is racing well over the sprint trip and should be thereabouts from this draw. PIERRE WHITBY (4) can always be dangerous if the race is run to suit. Tips: 10 1 2 4 Suggested Bet: CULPEKA (10) to win. Race 9 QUEEN SHENANDOAH (1) was held up for as run when a close up 4th here last week and looks the one to beat from the pole. ROSIES IDEAL (2) has performed well at her last two starts and should be in the thick of the action from her nice draw. HAS NO FEAR (4) will be fitter for her first-up effort and shouldn’t be far away. MILLWOOD MOLLY (7) enjoyed all of the favours when well-driven to win here last start but will find it tougher from out here tonight. Tips: 1 2 4 7 Suggested Bet: QUEEN SHENANDOAH (1) to win. Race 10 FRANCO ECUADOR (6) has created a big impression in his two starts, the latest a dominant 1.54.0 victory from the breeze at Pinjarra. He goes up in class for this assignment but looks a special colt and should continue his winning run. MAJOR MARTINI (3) was held up until late when a fast finishing 3rd at his first run back from a spell and looks the main danger. AL GUERRERO (1) has led throughout to win three of his past four starts and will give a sight. JASPERVELLABEACH (2) hasn’t returned at his top but is capable of sharp improvement. Tips: 6 3 1 2 Suggested Bet: FRANCO ECUADOR (6) to win. Market Market
