Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on November 14, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 ROBB STARK (5) has been placed at his last four starts and is close to breaking back into the winners’ circle. He sat on the talented Taroona Bromac here last week and was no match for the winner but will appreciate the drop in class tonight. BRAEVIEW BONDI (12) has won two of his three WA starts and must be considered despite the backline draw. DENNIS (4) has been placed at five of his past seven starts and will be running on again. CAPTAIN MANNERING (3) has won two of his last three and can play a part from this draw. Tips: 5 12 4 3 Suggested Bet: DENNIS (4) each way. Race 2 MAD ROBBER (1) started from the backline when a solid 3rd here last week and looks the leader tonight and should be extremely hard to catch. ONEONTHEWOOD (2) has been placed in all five starts this campaign and was held up at a crucial stage when 2nd here last week. ATMOSPHERICAL (6) didn’t have any luck at his last start and can be right in the finish if the race is run to suit. ROMAN AVIATOR (8) has been placed at big odds in two of his last three runs and can be in the money again. Tips: 1 2 6 8 Suggested Bet: MAD ROBBER (1) to win. Race 3 GRAN CHICO (10) won six of his 13 starts in New Zealand and raced in considerably stronger company than he meets tonight. He finished 4th to Chase Auckland at his last start and should win plenty of races in WA but does have a slightly awkward draw to contend with here. DOMINATE THE DOJO (1) has only won one of his last 15 starts but has been placed in 11 of those and will lead and give the favourite something to catch. SERGEANT OATS (4) was a good last winner and can play a part. OUR PERKINS (3) is the best of the rest. Tips: 10 1 4 3 Suggested Bet: DOMINATE THE DOJO (1) each way. Race 4 MIGHTY CONQUEROR (1) is probably the state’s best pacer at the moment despite being narrowly beaten by MOTU PREMIER (5) last start. He has the pole draw tonight and looks extremely hard to beat. MOTU PREMIER (5) was an impressive winner over the favourite but the barrier draw makes it harder tonight. BILL HALEY (7) has a devastating turn of foot and looks a major player but the tempo of this event may not suit. GALACTIC STAR (8) is a consistent performer at the top level but is drawn wide and is first-up from a spell. Tips: 1 5 7 8 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY CONQUEROR (1) to win. Race 5 WILDWEST (6) took his unbeaten record to eight wins when sitting outside PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (5) and getting over the top of that rival in a 54.8 last half at Pinjarra. He is likely to have to face the breeze again but is clearly the one to beat. PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (5) had his chance at Pinjarra but will give the favourite something to catch if he can cross to the front easily. GEE JAY KAY (3) has always been just a rung below this class but his latest win was full of merit. TAROONA BROMAC (12) has jogged around to win his first four races in WA but will know he’s in a race tonight. Tips: 6 5 3 12 Suggested Bet: WILDWEST (6) to win. Race 6 MIGHTY FLYING DEAL (1) led when 2nd to El Jacko here two starts back before finishing a close-up 5th in a strong field. He looks the likely leader here and will give a great sight. SIMBA BROMAC (5) has been unplaced at his past six starts but drops in class tonight and can improve. MIGHTY SANTANA (8) was ultra-impressive in winning here last week but is drawn wide here. OVERBOARD AGAIN (4) is racing well and can win with the right run in transit. Tips: 1 5 8 4 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY FLYING DEAL (1) to win. Race 7 DRACARYS (5) over-raced first-up and was far from disgraced when 3rd to Bill Haley. She’ll strip fitter for that run and has a barrier advantage over her main rivals. GOTTA GO GABBANA (8) was flying at the end of her last campaign and indicated that she was ready for this assignment with a 20m Byford trial win in slick time. ARMA INDIE (9) has impressed in winning six of her seven starts this time in but faces a tough task from the draw. MON LILLIES (1) doesn’t have the class of her main rivals but will lead over the sprint trip. Tips: 5 8 9 1 Suggested Bet: MON LILLIES (1) each way. Race 8 AMERICAN BRAVE (1) disappointed at his first run back from a spell when he over-raced and compounded late to finish near the rear. He will be sent out at a short quote tonight due to his potential but it may be a case of buyer beware. JACK WILLIAM (10) finished 3rd here last week from the same draw and looks a good each way chance tonight. HIT IT RICH (7) is drawn wide but ran a nice 3rd to The Bird Dance last week and can play a part. BATAVIA ON FIRE (2) has been racing well in stands and is drawn to be thereabouts. Tips: 1 10 7 2 Suggested Bet: JACK WILLIAM (10) each way. Race 9 CONVERT DENARIO (7) enjoyed a lovely run on the pace when an impressive winner here last start. He is drawn wider tonight but this is a drop in class and he should prove hard to beat. HY LEEXCITING (2) led everywhere but the post when nabbed by Bill Haley here last week and will give them something to catch if he crosses the polemarker. CARRERA MACH (1) has won two of his last four starts and has options at the start. BETTOR REWARD (8) was a 1.54.6 winner here at his last start but will find it harder from out here. Tips: 7 2 1 8 Suggested Bet: CARRERA MACH (1) each way. Race 10 SOME COPPER BEACH (4) won five of her ten starts as a 2YO and was a solid 3rd in the Golden Slipper. She resumes here without a trial but will run a bold race if anywhere near her top. MACZ BROTHER (3) sprinted brilliantly off a slow pace to win at Northam and looks ready for the rise in class. JASPERVELLABEACH (7) led throughout to win the Golden Slipper at his last start and must be considered despite the wide draw. HARLEY ZEST (1) doesn’t have the class of his main rivals but should be thereabouts from the pole. Tips: 4 3 7 1 Suggested Bet: SOME COPPER BEACH (4) to win. Market Market
