Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 7, 2019February 8, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 BACK TO THE BEACH (1) has battled bad barriers at his past three starts but has still performed soundly. He gets the perfect draw tonight and is clearly the one to beat. COURAGE TELLS (3) has finished 2nd in quick time at his last two starts and should be right in the finish again. BETTOR NOT BITTER (2) had his chance when he led and ran 2nd here at his last start and shouldn’t be far away. DEBT FREE CHARLIE (12) is racing well but has a backline draw to overcome. Tips: 1 3 2 12 Suggested Bet: BACK TO THE BEACH (1) to win. Race 2 RUNAWAY THREE (3) is racing consistently, including a last start 4th to Golden State in a stronger field. He has a barrier advantage over his main rivals and gets his chance to bounce back into the winners’ circle. COME DANCE WITH ME (8) has got a nice turn of foot and will be charging home late if the pace is on early. DESTINED TO RULE (11) was a nice 3rd in the Northam Cup and can get into the money at odds. BETTOR FINISH (6) was a solid 2nd in the Albany Cup two starts back and can play a part. Tips: 3 8 11 6 Suggested Bet: DESTINED TO RULE (11) each way. Race 3 CAVIAR STAR (12) has been ultra-impressive in winning his last three starts. He overcame a similar draw to win here a fortnight ago and is clearly the one to beat. THE TRILOGY (1) hasn’t had much luck lately but will lead here and give the favourite something to chase. LOT TWENTY ONE (10) is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs and shouldn’t be far away. BETTOR BE LIVELY (11) performed well during the nights Of Thunder Series and can be placed. Tips: 12 1 10 11 Suggested Bet: LOT TWENTY ONE (10) to place. Race 4 CHOK CHAI (1) was first-up from a break but proved too good in bringing up his 11th win from 16 career starts. He should be fitter for that run and looks extremely hard to beat from the pole. LORD WILLOUGHBY (10) is an ultra-consistent type who will enjoy a soft run on the pegs and should be in the finish. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (2) has the times on the board to challenge the polemarker if there is any chink in his armour. JAMES BUTT (3) overcame a wide draw to bolt in here at his last start but goes up in class tonight. Tips: 1 10 2 3 Suggested Bet: LORD WILLOUGHBY (10) each way. Race 5 EL JACKO (10) was a fast finishing 2nd in the WA Pacing Cup before running on from well back when 2nd to VULTAN TIN (5). He is the lone horse off the backline so has options at the start and should be steaming home. VULTAN TIN (5) has been impressive in winning his last two and is a huge chance which ever way the race is run due to his versatility. MR MOJITO (2) starts from the pole now and should improve. IM FULL OF EXCUSES (4) is drawn to get a nice run in the moving line and can be placed. Tips: 10 5 2 4 Suggested Bet: EL JACKO (10) to win. Race 6 TYPHOON TIFF (5) has won four of her six career starts and impressed at her first run back from a break. She ran home in 54.5 on that occasion and will be extremely hard to catch if she finds the front. ARMA INDIE (9) crosses the Tasman with good NZ form and should give a sight despite the wide draw. MILLWOOD GUCCI (1) has won two of her last four starts and the perfect draw offsets the rise in class. SOHO INTERCEPTOR (4) has performed poorly this time in but trialled nicely recently and can improve. Tips: 5 9 1 4 Suggested Bet: TYPHOON TIFF (5) to win. Race 7 TALKTOMEURMATTJESTY (1) led when 2nd to Im Soxy here three stars back. He hasn’t been in suitable events at his subsequent runs but gets his chance from the pole. BENHOPE RULZ (6) put up his best performance when breezing to win the Nights Of Thunder in 1.54.4 and must be respected on that effort. NAVAL AVIATOR (2) won three on end before working too hard last start and will appreciate a softer trip tonight. MICHAEL JOSEPH (8) was an impressive winner here last week from a similar draw but goes up in class. Tips: 1 6 2 8 Suggested Bet: TALKTOMEURMATTJESTY (1) to win. Race 8 MISS SANGRIAL (2) was a comfortable first-up winner before finishing just behind the placegetters in a stronger event here last week. She is the best drawn of the main chances and looks the one to beat. VEILED SECRET (3) was just fair at her first two runs back from a spell but hit peak form with a solid win over Mista Shark at Pinjarra and will make her presence felt. LIBERTY ROSE (10) will be charging home with any luck from this barrier. OUR MAJOR MAMA (5) is up to these mares but is awkwardly drawn. Tips: 2 3 10 5 Suggested Bet: MISS SANGRIAL (2) to win. Race 9 FRANCO EDWARD (4) has won eight of his 11 starts and looks a class above his rivals here. He should press forward at the start and it is likely to find the lead and be too good. ANIME (1) is racing extremely well and should be in the money from the pole. MISTER BUSHIDO (2) improved significantly last start and is drawn to be in the finish. SWEET N FAST (5) is a talented 4YO but is drawn awkwardly outside the favourite. Tips: 4 1 2 5 Suggested Bet: Quinella ANIME (1) & FRANCO EDWARD (4). Race 10 OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (8) was impressive in winning his last two starts before a spell. He resumes here without a trial but is clearly the one to beat if anywhere near his top. VRAI LAMOUR (1) won his last two starts before an 18-month injury enforced hiatus but did enough at his first run back to indicate he should be in the finish here. BE ON GUARD (10) broke through for a well-deserved victory at Northam and looks a good place chance from this draw. INNOCENT AFFAIR (11) has been racing consistently and won’t be far away. Tips: 8 1 10 11 Suggested Bet: OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (8) to win. Market Market
