Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 22, 2026January 22, 2026 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 ROCKOKOKO (6) returns to WA after a stint with Team McCarthy on the eastern seaboard. He has plenty of ability and his recent Pinjarra trial win indicated that he should be in for a good campaign. HI SUGA RUSH (2) has been a mixture of disappointing and unlucky this time in and it wouldn’t surprise if he improved sharply tonight. OH MIKI (11) is racing well and looks the other major winning chance. ITSOKTOBEGREY (1) should enjoy a soft run behind the speed and can be placed. Tips: 6 2 11 1 Suggested Bet: ROCKOKOKO (6) to win. Race 2 WHATARETHEODDS (8) wouldn’t have appreciated being involved in a 35.7 lead time at his first run back from a spell and understandably faded late. This is a big drop in class and he looks a great each way chance. MINOS (11) has his first start in WA tonight and has trialled nicely for his return. He raced well in very good fields last time in but hasn’t raced for almost 12 months. SWEET LUCIFER (7) was narrowly beaten by MINOS (11) in a Byford trial and must be respected. RAKERO RAIDER (5) goes up in class but his win here last week was impressive. Tips: 8 11 7 5 Suggested Bet: WHATARETHEODDS (8) each way. Race 3 LOU LAMOUR (1) followed some consistent form with a well-deserved Pinjarra victory in quick time. He took the trail from this draw on that occasion but may elect to lead tonight without the sprint lane. WHOS THE DAD (7) ran a nice 3rd at Pinjarra on Monday and will come right into play if there is a solid tempo in the early stages. QUEENINTHECORNER (3) is showing good signs for the new stable and she would give a great sight if she can find the front. GAITCRASHER (8) and PETES HONOUR (9) are the class runners of the field but have tough draws to overcome. Tips: 1 7 3 8 Suggested Bet: LOU LAMOUR (1) to win. Race 4 MY WATCHLIST (5) impressed in winning his first four starts this time in and is still looking for a run in last week’s event behind HOTLY PURSUED (6). He can make his own luck tonight and should fight out the finish. HOTLY PURSUED (6) was a comfortable all-the-way winner of that event and has shown that he doesn’t have to lead to win a race of this nature. FAT LOUIE (2) is an improving type who would give a great sight if he could find the front at good each way odds. FRANCO ENCORE (3) has gone to a new level at his last two starts and has the gate speed to settle in a prominent position. MADAM PUBLISHER (1) could be the beneficiary of an early speed battle as she is likely to enjoy a nice run just behind them. Tips: 5 6 2 3 Suggested Bet: FAT LOUIE (2) each way. Race 5 Most of the class horses in the heats didn’t qualify for this Final with the exception of NATHAN STREET (7). He won’t find this easy but it does look like he’ll control the tempo and appeals as the one to beat. BETTOR ARCADE (2) was pushed out an inopportune time last week and fought on well and will start from the pole if there are no scratchings. LINCOLN RIVER (5) would have won his heat if he saw daylight and looks a major player. THELITTLE MASTER (9) needs the tempo on but we saw what he can do last week if that does eventuate. Tips: 7 2 5 9 Suggested Bet: NATHAN STREET (7) to win. Race 6 Pre-race interviews are vital for this event. LENORA JANE (1) has the speed to lead and if she does she is a good each way chance but will struggle to hold out SHEER ROCK LADY (10) if that mare sees daylight. If she sits on VINITA ROSE (3), that mare will become the one to beat and SHEER ROCK LADY (10) will need plenty of luck. THE SWINDLER (4) and BAZAAR PACKAGE (9) are next best. Tips: 10 3 1 4 Suggested Bet: SHEER ROCK LADY (10) to win. Race 7 A lot of promising horses in this race that you’d love to take home but BURGHLEY SHARD (1) could beat them all. He has been battling bad barriers and the old boy should give a great sight from the pole over the sprint trip. CEASE TO REACT (9) is a classy type who ran a quick last half when bolting in at Pinjarra and is an obvious danger. KOOJAN (8) isn’t suited at this trip and doesn’t look like he knows what he is doing but he does have a good motor. HE IS TALKING (4) and RAJAH ROCKS (5) are both promising types with claims. Tips: 1 9 8 4 Suggested Bet: BURGHLEY SHARD (1) to win. Race 8 DOURADO (1) has won his last two starts, both from the stand, in the country and he will be very hard to beat if he can step to the front tonight. MAXIMUM ROCK (6) was huge in running 4th in a Nights Of Thunder Heat and has a good record from the tapes. MAUNGATAHI (9) is the class runner of the field and ran a great 2nd here last week at his first run from the stand but could meet a similar fate tonight if the polemarker steps cleanly. FEELING ACES (4) led throughout to defeat a similar field here last week and must be considered but he goes back 10m tonight. Tips: 1 8 6 4 Suggested Bet: DOURADO (1) to win. Race 9 MASTER REMI (1) hasn’t finished close than 6th in his last seven starts but has the pole over the sprint trip against an ordinary line-up so happy to have a throw at the stumps. HOTFOOT IT (2) has a surprisingly terrible record at this distance (0 wins from 16 starts) but will give a great sight if he leads. MADAM MAGGIE (3) ran a nice 5th in stronger company on Monday and should be thereabouts. THE BEACH MASTER (6) has reasonable Albany form and will be running on if there is a solid tempo Tips: 1 2 3 6 Suggested Bet: MASTER REMI (1) each way. Market Market
