Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 3, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: LORD WILLOUGHBY (4) still looked a bit underdone but sprinted brilliantly to win here last week. He maintains his form when he hits his peak and should be in the finish again. WALKINSHAW (8) has run nice 3rds at his last two starts and can work from this draw and still figure in the finish. CHIAROSCURO (1) did things wrong from this draw two starts back but will play a part if he begins smoothly. ROBB STARK (11) is the least experienced runner but has plenty of ability and can win. Tips: 4 8 1 11 Suggested Bet: LORD WILLOUGHBY (4) each way. Race 2: IM SOXY (5) was in red-hot form before getting posted three wide on a blistering speed last start. He should get a better run in transit and can bounce back. BETTOR AIM (11) has won seven of his 11 starts and looks ready for the rise in class. HANDSANDWHEELS (2) has been racing extremely consistently and is perfectly drawn here. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (10) had all the breaks when a 1.54.3 winner here last start but will need luck from this draw. Tips: 5 11 2 10 Suggested Bet: IM SOXY (5) to win. Race 3: GOLDEN STATE (2) broke back into the winners’ circle when a comfortable winner in easier company last start. He is better suited with a sit but looks to get an easy lead and should prove hard to beat. BRIGHT DIAMOND (6) was a solid 3rd to Benhope Rulz last start and should be thereabouts again. THE ARSONIST (5) ran on well to finish 3rd to GOLDEN STATE (2) and will be running on again. JUST BET ON BLACK (1) hasn’t displayed his best form recently but is drawn to get a nice run tonight. Tips: 2 6 5 1 Suggested Bet: GOLDEN STATE (2) to win. Race 4: VULTAN TIN (1) has been racing well and will appreciate the pole draw. He probably has the speed to hold up and will give a great sight in that role. MITCH MAGUIRE (10) is drawn to follow the polemarker everywhere and has the turn of foot to be dangerous if he gets out at the right time. VAMPIRO (9) has the best form in the race and can win but has a tough draw to overcome. MR MOJITO (4) was well supported to beat My Field Marshall but couldn’t get into the race last week and should improve tonight. Tips: 1 10 9 4 Suggested Bet: VULTAN TIN (1) to win. Race 5: SUNOFLINDENNY (10) has resumed from a break with three solid wins where he has worked to the front from 20m and 30m handicaps. This looks collectively harder but he is still the one to beat. SUN OF ANARCHY (11) has won two of his last three starts and looks the main danger. LIGHTNING CALDER (9) has been placed at his 12 of his past 15 starts and should be thereabouts again. BALMORAL BOY (12) defeated a similar field from the mobile last start but isn’t as well suited from the stand. Tips: 10 11 9 12 Suggested Bet: SUNOFLINDENNY (10) to win. Race 6: MACZAFFAIR (3) crossed at the start and gave a sight when 3rd to El Jacko here last week. She drops back to mares’ company here and will be hard to catch if she finds the top. GOTTA GO GABBANA (8) has been working hard in her races but battling on extremely well and looks the main danger. LIBERTY ROSE (6) is first-up but started a $1.90 favourite in the WA Oaks and must be respected. LADY DE LA RENTA (9) was an easy winner here last week but has a horror draw to overcome. Tips: 3 8 6 9 Suggested Bet: Quinella MACZAFFAIR (3) & GOTTA GO GABBANA (8). Race 7: CARRERA MACH (2) is in peak form, winning four of his past five starts. He has been racing in easier company but has the advantage at the handicaps and has won his last two standing start events. BETTOR NOT BITTER (9) is racing consistently and is capable of doing some work in his races. TANAKA EAGLE (5) finished a 2m 2nd to Our Max Phactor two starts back and this is a considerable drop in class. ALWAYS ARJAY (8) ran on well to finish 2nd to Lord Willoughby here last week and loves the stand. Tips: 2 9 5 8 Suggested Bet: CARRERA MACH (2) to win. Race 8: BETTOR VISION (3) was a game 2nd to Benhope Rulz here last week and looks extremely hard to beat from this draw. STESBEST (5) won as he liked after finding the front last week and is the obvious danger. FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (2) was well supported when a disappointing 8th at his first run in the state but could be an improver from this draw. MAKINCHANGES (1) has finished near the rear at his past four starts but could sneak into a place from the pole. Tips: 3 5 2 1 Suggested Bet: BETTOR VISION (3) to win. Race 9: PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING (11) created a big impression at his first two starts in the state and would win this if he reproduced those efforts. He then went to Albany and was beaten 82m at his last start and there wasn’t any problem reported so that must be a concern. LOT TWENTY ONE (1) is an in-and-out customer but must be respected from the pole. DOMINATE THE DOJO (8) has finished just behind the placegetters at his three starts this time in and should be ready. NORTHERN EMPEROR (12) is ultra-consistent and will be running on. Tips: 11 1 8 12 Suggested Bet: PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING (11) to win. Race 10: ROMAN AVIATOR (2) has been racing consistently including a strong 2nd to Bettor Aim here two starts back. He is well drawn and looks the one to beat in an easier assignment. ANIME (1) ran on well to finish 2nd to Stefsbest here last week and is drawn to be a major player. ONE OFF DELIGHT (5) has disappointed at his three runs this time in but is too good to overlook in this class. LUIS ALBERTO (3) is normally thereabouts and looks an each way chance from this draw. Tips: 2 1 5 3 Suggested Bet: ROMAN AVIATOR (2) to win. Market Market
