Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 24, 2025December 24, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 HUNGER STRIKE (1) worked her way to the front when a dominant 1.56.2 winner here at her last start and will be very hard to beat if she produces a similar effort from the pole. DELULU (7) has three wins and three 2nds from her last six starts and will be charging home again. COMO EL VIENTO (11) has been racing well from wide barriers and should settle midfield tonight from his nice trailing draw. ITS CRUNCH TIME (10) ran a brave 3rd to Captains Creek at his last start and should be thereabouts if he can settle on the leaders’ back. Tips: 1 7 11 10 Suggested Bet: HUNGER STRIKE (1) to win. Race 2 CAPTAINS CREEK (9) was only placed in two of his first eight starts this time but something clicked and he has now won four on the trot in impressive times. He overcame a similar draw to win here at his last start and he is the one to beat again. HI SUGA RUSH (6) has been a bit disappointing at his two runs back from a spell but he has the barrier advantage and will give a great sight if he can find the front. OH MIKI (8) has only had the nine career starts and is still learning but he has his fair share of ability. MASTER LEIGHTON (11) is at the other end of his career but is racing well and can be in the money. Tips: 9 6 8 11 Suggested Bet: CAPTAINS CREEK (9) to win. Race 3 Wide open affair and any of the twelve runners could win without surprising so I’ll look for value. SOHO MOONRAKER (8) has only been placed in one of his last 11 starts but he drops in class and should give a sight at each way odds. LORD TITANIUM (10) will enjoy a soft run on the pegs and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. KURIOUS BOY (1) hasn’t drawn closer than barrier six in his three runs back from a spell and has options from the pole. SISTER CHERIE (4) has been racing in stronger fields and should make her presence felt. Tips: 8 10 1 4 Suggested Bet: SOHO MOONRAKER (8) each way. Race 4 NATHAN STREET (9) finds more trouble than an English cricketer at Noosa but he has plenty of ability and I think he will be at backable odds tonight. MY WATCHLIST (5) was ultra-impressive at his first run back from a spell and this looks likely to be a campaign where he delivers on his promise. SWEET COCO (6) has binary form but when she is good she is very good and must be considered on her last start win. ERA (1) is flying and my first instinct was to tip him on an each way basis but I’m concerned about his final quarter sectionals against this field. Tips: 9 5 6 1 Suggested Bet: NATHAN STREET (9) to win. Race 5 HOTLY PURSUED (5) resumed here from a wide draw last week and ran on to finish midfield. He will strip fitter for that effort and could press for the top tonight and he will give a great sight in that role. BETTER ECLIPSE (9) was slightly disappointing in the Pacing Cup but bounced back with a strong win here last week and looks a major player again. TIGER ROYAL (10) is in career best form and this draw could work to his advantage. MAGNUS VICTOR (7) was an unlucky 5th to BETTER ECLIPSE (9) here last week and is capable of winning a race of this nature. Tips: 5 9 10 7 Suggested Bet: HOTLY PURSUED (5) to win. Race 6 QUEENINTHECORNER (2) has only been racing fairly but she is a month between runs and is now with Chris Voak. She has jumped out of the ground when changing stables before so monitor the betting as she looks the leader here. CHAMPAGNE EVERYONE (6) resumed for a new stable with a soft win and can handle the rise in class. SOHO VESPER LIND (4) has been racing well in stronger company and will be charging home. JACKIE DANIELS (1) looks a good place chance from the leaders’ back if QUEENINTHECORNER (2) performs well. Tips: 2 6 4 1 Suggested Bet: QUEENINTHECORNER (2) to win. Race 7 HOTFOOT IT (1) looks the likely leader here and he should give a great sight over the sprint trip. JAXON MORGAN (7) and WANDERING GIRL (8) filled the quinella positions here last week and could fight out the finish again if the race is run to suit. ARUM (10) is a lightly raced 9YO who will enjoy a soft run on the pegs and looks a good each way chance. Tips: 1 7 8 10 Suggested Bet: HOTFOOT IT (1) to win. Race 8 This race is harder to pick than a broken nose and taking the field in the quaddie is a viable option. MARBEECHSAM (9) needs a solid tempo to bring him into it but happy to play him at good double figure odds. STRAUNY (8) is one of the few horses with strength in this field and can be driven accordingly. COOPER (6) has a losing sequence of 27 and is a winning chance which says a lot. MACHANE SAID (11) has as similar record but is racing well enough to figure. Tips: 9 8 6 11 Suggested Bet: MARBEECHSAM (9) each way. Race 9 LINCOLN RIVER (6) crosses the Nullabor with moderate Victorian form he trialled nicely for his return and could be good enough to win this event. AMBITSAYA (5) was very disappointing first-up but has plenty of ability so monitor the betting. ILLAWONG MUSTANG (8) is a quick beginner and he will be hard to catch if he can cross at the start. PHILTHEJUG (1) doesn’t have the class of most of these but loves the sprint trip and has the pole so can be placed. Tips: 6 5 8 1 Suggested Bet: LINCOLN RIVER (6) to win. Race 10 MAJESTIC GA GA (6) continues to race well and she draws to the inside of her main race-fit rivals and appeals as the one to beat. PATCHED (8) won well at his last start and has the speed to overcome the wide barrier. YANKEE LOVER (3) creates interest as he would be favourite at his top but he is first-up from a five-month break and his recent trial against the pacers was inconclusive. LUVAFLAIR (7) is ultra-consistent and will be running on as always. Tips: 6 8 3 7 Suggested Bet: MAJESTIC GA GA (6) to win. Market Market
