Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 13, 2024June 13, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 OCTOBER REIGN (4) was forced to face the breeze when the two leaders were going mad in front last week but fought on well to finish 3rd and will be very hard to beat here if he crosses at the start. SPORT SPORT SPORT (2) led throughout from a similar draw two starts back and should be prominent throughout. RASCAL (11) had no luck here last week but should enjoy a nice run just behind the speed tonight. RATTLIN LILY (10) has ability but has an awkward draw to overcome. Tips: 4 2 11 10 Suggested Bet: OCTOBER REIGN (4) to win. Race 2 MAUNGATAHI (5) won three on end before finishing midfield in stronger company here last week and he looks a good each way chance here. CHASING HILL (1) won his last three starts before a spell in Albany and his times indicate that he will measure up to city racing. SOHO FIRESTONE (3) caught the eye when running on into 3rd here last week and should play a part again. CAPTAIN BLIGH (8) has plenty of ability but isn’t the most tractable type and isn’t suited out here. Tips: 5 1 3 8 Suggested Bet: MAUNGATAHI (5) each way. Race 3 FRANCO ECUADOR (3) disappointed last time in and resumes here without a trial but he will be very hard to beat if anywhere near his best. WITHOUTTHETUH (1) grows a leg when on the pegs and has options at the start. FEELING ACES (10) is drawn to enjoy a soft run behind the fancied runners and looks a great place chance. IRA POOLE (11) is an inconsistent type but can figure in the finish if he turns up in the right frame of mind. Tips: 3 1 10 11 Suggested Bet: FRANCO ECUADOR (3) to win. Race 4 MAGNUS VICTOR (2) has resumed in great form and finished 2nd to JETT STAR (9) here last week. He enjoys a barrier advantage over that rival tonight and he looks a great each way chance tonight. ROCKMYSTER (10) is drawn to enjoy a soft run on the pegs and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. JETT STAR (9) is the class runner of the field and has impressed with comfortable victories at his past two starts but has a tough draw to overcome. STATE OF HEAVEN (1) has won two of his last five starts and can make his presence felt from the pole. Tips: 2 10 9 1 Suggested Bet: MAGNUS VICTOR (2) each way. Race 5 BETTAGETONPIP (1) resumed with q dominant all-the-way win against a similar field here last week and is clearly the one to beat from the pole. HIGHVIEW HEIDI (3) followed two impressive wins with a very disappointing effort here last week. There was nothing in the steward’s report to excuse the run so she must be taken on trust. RUBY LOU (6) ran a nice 4th behind the favourite at her first run back from a spell and should strip fitter for that effort. JAXS IDEAL (4) resumes here without a trial but has ability so monitor the betting. Tips: 1 3 6 4 Suggested Bet: BETTAGETONPIP (1) to win. Race 6 WILDWEST (1) ran a nice 2nd to Finvarra before showing good gate speed here when finish 2nd to Diego after handing up to that pacer mid-race. He looks the early leader tonight and will be hard to beat if he holds the front. JUMPINGJACKMAC (5) racing extremely well and will win if he finds the top but can still figure if that doesn’t eventuate. ARMA EINSTEIN (2) and TO FAST TO SERIOUS (3) should settle just behind the speed and both can be in the money. Tips: 1 5 2 3 Suggested Bet: WILDWEST (1) to win. Race 7 STREET HAWK (8) was an impressive winner of the York cup at his last start and looks suited again. BELISSIMO ACQUISTO (4) has resumed with two 3rd’s and will be hard to catch if he can find the front in the early stages. CARANA (9) has a 30m handicap to overcome but has won three of his last four starts in similar events and is suited by the small field. SOUND WAVE (2) could surprise at odds if he steps quickly from the tapes. Tips: 8 4 9 2 Suggested Bet: STREET HAWK (8) to win. Race 8 WATER LOU (7) continued on her winning way when overcoming a chequered run to win the diamond Classic. She is drawn poorly here but still appeals as the one to beat. XCEPTIONAL ARMA (3) has been racing well without winning but gets her chance to turn the tables on the favourite if she can use her barrier advantage to find the front. AMBITSIYA (6) led throughout in good time sat her last start but will find it tougher from out here. RELATIVELY ARMA (4) can be placed at big odds if she can use her gate speed to obtain a position on the pegs behind one of the fancied runners. Tips: 7 3 6 4 Suggested Bet: WATER LOU (7) to win. Race 9 QUEENINTHECORNER (2) has led throughout in quick time at her last two starts and looks a great chance to bring up the hat-trick tonight. SWEET VIVIENNE (1) is drawn to enjoy a lovely run and looks a sharp improver on her last three unplaced runs. ACHARNE GIRL (9) is the other class runner of the field but has a tough draw and map to overcome. EVE CROCKER (3) was a good last start winner but goes up in class tonight. Tips: 2 1 9 3 Suggested Bet: QUEENINTHECORNER (2) to win. Race 10 MAJOR OVERS (2) has finished just behind the placegetters at his three starts back from a spell but looks a good chance to find the front tonight and will be hard to beat in that role. SWAGGER MAN (5) made up ground when 4th here last week and has a better barrier tonight. THE RIGHTEOUS (1) has a losing sequence of 20 but is drawn to be thereabouts in this event. GEE SMITH (8) is racing consistently but finds it hard to win. Tips: 2 5 1 8 Suggested Bet: MAJOR OVERS (2) to win. Market Market
