Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on November 30, 2023November 30, 2023 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 BEE JAYS BOY (1) was placed in four of his previous five starts before being unable to make ground in a quick last quarter here last week. He comes up with the pole draw tonight and appeals as the one to beat. ME FLASH (2) was fancied but had no luck when a close-up 3rd here last week and should make his presence felt. SOHO SANTORINI (10) is drawn to trail the favourite and will be dangerous if he sees daylight at the right time. OUR SHELLEY BEACH (11) led throughout against a similar field here last week but goes to the back line tonight. Tips: 1 2 10 11 Suggested Bet: BEE JAYS BOY (1) to win. Race 2 LONGREACH BAY (1) led throughout to win here two starts back and is clearly the one to beat from the pole. INFINITE SIGN (3) led throughout here in 1.55.0 three starts back but his form when unable to find the top hasn’t been flattering so his chances could be determined in the early stages. AMERICAN ARMA (2) drops in class on her recent assignments against the state’s best mares and should be thereabouts. OTIS (5) disappointed here last week but does drop in class tonight. Tips: 1 3 2 5 Suggested Bet: LONGREACH BAY (1) to win. Race 3 IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (1) hasn’t had much luck since leading throughout in 1.55.7 over this distance four starts back and will be hard to beat if he can repeat that performance. MACHNIFICENT (5) looked sharp when a dominant winner against easier company at his last start and can go on with it now. HILLVIEW BONDI (6) was a strong 1.56.7 winner from the breeze at his last start and will make his presence felt again. TIGER ROYAL (10) has been placed off soft runs at his last two starts and looks a good place chance again. Tips: 1 5 6 10 Suggested Bet: IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (1) to win. Race 4 GOODFELLAZ (4) was a strong winner of the San Simeon before going for a spell and indicated that he is ready for a big campaign with a dominant Pinjarra trial win. FLOEWRITER (1) ran a narrow 2nd to ROCKMYSTER (5) at his last start and has the speed to lead here if desired. BRICKIES DREAM (10) impressed when finishing just behind the placegetters in Free For All company at his last start and is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs. PAUL EDWARD (11) was blocked for a run first-up and can figure with some luck. Tips: 4 5 10 11 Suggested Bet: GOODFELLAZ (4) each way. Race 5 MY ULTIMATE RONNIE (3) has found the front and recorded impressive victories at his last three starts at Menangle. His latest win in 1.50.4 indicates that he is in peak form and he is clearly the one to beat. HOPPYS WAY (1) crossed from a wide draw when 3rd in the 4YO Championship and has options at the start. STAR CASINO (10) ran on well to win the $YO Championship and will enjoy a soft run on the pegs here. WONDERFUL TO FLY (11) has led and been run down at her last two starts in mares’ company but may be better suited driven cold tonight. Tips: 3 1 10 11 Suggested Bet: MY ULTIMATE RONNIE (3) to win. Race 6 RUMOUR HAS IT (1) led throughout in solid time two starts back and resumes here without a trial but has the hood added and looks the leader and one to beat. MIGHTHAVTIME (5) has been placed in her last four starts and should fight out the finish again. ALTA QUEEN (10) disappointed at her last start but looks a great place chance if that effort can be forgiven. IM THE MIGHTYLUCY (6) caught the eye when running on well to finish 2nd at her last start but is awkwardly drawn. Tips: 1 5 10 6 Suggested Bet: RUMOUR HAS IT (1) to win. Race 7 SISTER CHERIE (4) has impressed in winning all three starts since crossing the Tasman and appeals as the one to beat but this is her biggest test. QUATTROSE (1) worked her way to the front when a last-start winner at this track and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. CASTELLA DELLACQUA (8) defeated a similar field from the same draw at her last start and must be considered again. ZEPHYRA (9) finished 3rd in the WA Oaks two starts back and has the class to overcome the wide draw. Tips: 4 1 8 9 Suggested Bet: SISTER CHERIE (4) to win. Race 8 MAGNIFICENT STORM (4) was a dominant winner of the WA Pacing Cup and is clearly the one to beat in this small field. ARMA EINSTEIN (1) over-raced at his last start but his previous form was very consistent and he looks a great chance to fill the quinella position from the pole. MINSTREL (2) has the second best form of the quartet but doesn’t look suited by the speed map. BLITZEMBYE (3) will come into calculations to run 2nd if he can cross the two pacers drawn inside him in the early stages. Tips: 4 1 2 3 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (4) to win. Race 9 CARANA (8) has won five of his seven starts this time, all from the stand, and he looks the one to beat again. LUSAKA (10) is having his first start from the tapes so must be taken with an element of trust but he may be more talented than his stablemate. EXTRAORDINARY MARY (4) led throughout to win a similar event at her last start and will give a great sight if she finds the top again. AMERICAN BULLITT (7) is a consistent type who will be running on. Tips: 8 10 4 7 Suggested Bet: CARANA (8) to win. Market Market
