Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 18, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 BECHERS BROOK (6) was a close 2nd to King Of Swing in the WA Derby last campaign and resumed with a solid win in weaker company. This looks a harder assignment but he has the class to bring up his 10th win from 17 starts. MAXENTIUS (9) was ultra-impressive in overcoming a backline draw to win in slick time at his first run after a break and looks the main danger. BETTOR FINISH (3) couldn’t make the most of his inside barrier last start but hit the line hard and must be considered. KERRIN JOSEPH (8) is the best of the rest. Tips: 6 9 3 8 Suggested Bet: BECHERS BROOK (6) to win. Race 2 CHIAROSCURO (7) hit the line nicely when 2nd to Thereugo last week and is ready to show his best after four runs back from a spell. DESTINED TO RULE (6) sprinted brilliantly to defeat Bhagwan and is always a chance with the right run in transit. FANCI A DANCE (8) beat CHIAROSCURO (8) two starts ago and should be thereabouts at his first run this time in. ROCK ME OVER (2) won four on end recently but hasn’t quite handled the rise in class at his last few starts. Tips: 7 6 8 2 Suggested Bet: CHIAROSCURO (7) each way. Race 3 SOHO CHELSEA (1) led throughout from this draw in 1.55.8 three starts back. He hasn’t had much luck in his two subsequent runs and is clearly the one to beat tonight. TISADREAM (3) lost form at his last three starts before a spell and resumes here without a trial but would give this a big shake at his best. BHAGWAN (10) is racing extremely consistently and will obtain a lovely run in transit. LIVURA (7) continues to battle wide draws but does have a touch of class. Tips: 1 3 10 7 Suggested Bet: SOHO CHELSEA (1) to win. Race 4 BETTER B CHEVRON (2) led and was unplaced in consecutive runs here in September before having no luck last week. She is drawn to get an easy lead tonight and gets her chance to bounce back into the winners’ circle. KASEY JOHN (11) was a strong 2nd here last week and should settle in a favourable position from this draw. MISTER VERSACE (8) was held up last week and is the other class runner of the field. A BOY NAMED ROSIE (10) is likely to settle three back on the pegs and can be placed if he has luck in the final circuit. Tips: 2 11 8 10 Suggested Bet: BETTER B CHEVRON (2) to win. Race 5 HANDSANDWHEELS (4) won four of his last five starts before a spell, leading throughout in most of those. He resumes here without a trial but should find the front and prove very hard to catch. NEIGHLOR (1) was an impressive winner here three starts back and must be considered from his perfect draw. TWENTYNINE TWELVE (10) won from this barrier two starts ago and will be dangerous if he gets the breaks in the final circuit. BRAVO TEX (5) sat outside King Of Swing when a brave 4th to that pacer last week and won’t be far away again. Tips: 4 1 10 5 Suggested Bet: HANDSANDWHEELS (4) to win. Race 6 KING OF SWING (3) took his record to 14 wins from 22 career starts when a comfortable winner here last week. There a few things against him with an awkward draw over the sprint trip but he is still the one to beat. ROCKNROLL LINCOLN (2) has been ultra-impressive in winning his first two starts back from a spell and the rise in class is offset by a better draw tonight. MACZAFFAIR (1) is first up against hot company but will give them something to catch. VAMPIRO (6) is proven in this company but has a wide draw to overcome. Tips: 3 2 1 6 Suggested Bet: MACZAFFAIR (1) each way. Race 7 SOHO CHANGELING (1) hasn’t had much luck at her last two starts after four consecutive placings. She gets the pole tonight and should prove hard to beat. SHES TURBO CHARGED (9) was a good winner two starts back and has the best form in the race but has a horror draw to overcome. MILLWOOD BRANDY (2) has been battling bad barriers and can be a big improver from her nice draw. KAYTEEOH DENARIO (10) hasn’t been far away at her two WA starts and should get a lovely run on the pegs. Tips: 1 9 2 10 Suggested Bet: SOHO CHANGELING (1) to win. Race 8 MITCH MAGUIRE (8) has won five of his seven starts this campaign with the two defeats being game efforts behind Simba Bromac and Eden Franco. He looks too fast for this line-up and should be able to overcome the 20m handicap. RIGHTEOUS BROTHER (1) won a stand two starts back and is the only runner off the front line so will be in the firing line throughout. RULING GOLD (5) has been placed at both starts this campaign and can be in the money again. QTOWN RIP ROARING (3) was held up last week and can be thereabouts. Tips: 8 1 5 3 Suggested Bet: MITCH MAGUIRE (8) to win. Race 9 SCOTLYN BEACH (1) was a strong winner from the breeze two starts back and then ran a game 4th to Thereugo from the same position last week. This is a drop in class and he looks the winner from the pole. SUSPICIOUS LIFE (10) is drawn to get a perfect run in transit and looks a great place chance. ROLL WITH ME (7) is racing extremely well but has a wide draw to overcome. ULTIMATE MAJOR (2) ran 2nd to King Of Swing two starts back and can be placed again with the right run. Tips: 1 10 7 2 Suggested Bet: SCOTLYN BEACH (1) to win. Race 10 ATHABASCAN (5) showed good gate speed at his first run back from a spell but couldn’t cross and worked too hard. This looks easier and he would give some cheek if he can cross at the start. BE ON GUARD (2) has won two of his last three and must be considered from this draw. KID COLOSSUS (10) wasn’t far away last week when 4th from the same barrier and can be in the finish with any luck. THE REDEEMER (9) is racing well but has to overcome the widest draw over the sprint trip. Tips: 5 2 10 9 Suggested Bet: ATHABASCAN (5) to win. Market Market
