Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 20, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 BETTOR FINISH (6) has faced the breeze and been placed at both starts after a short break. He was only beaten 7.4m by The Art Form before being nosed out on the line by Fizzing here last week. This looks slightly easier and he should prove hard to beat. RUNAWAY THREE (3) has been very disappointing at his last two starts but is the best drawn of the main chances. KAPTAIN KENNY (5) has been placed at four of his past five and should be thereabouts. CHIAROSCURO (11) will be fitter for his first-up run and can improve. Tips: 6 3 5 11 Suggested Bet: BETTOR FINISH (6) to win. Race 2 SOHO CHELSEA (1) hasn’t finished further back than 4th at his last five starts and gets his chance tonight. He led when 4th to Vampiro in 1.55.6 two starts back and this looks considerably easier. IM SOXY (2) was a close 2nd here last week and is drawn to get a lovely run in transit. OVERBOARD AGAIN (6) chased home Simba Bromac before suffering an atrial fibrillation last start but has trialled nicely since. THE SPINSTER (8) has been impressive in winning her last two here and must be respected. Tips: 1 2 6 8 Suggested Bet: SOHO CHELSEA (1) to win. Race 3 MITCH MAGUIRE (6) resumed from a spell with three comfortable victories and was then far from disgraced when sitting outside Simba Bromac and running 2nd to that pacer. He looks to have a class edge on his rivals tonight and should prove too good. MIGHTY FLYING THOMAS (5) couldn’t get into the race last week after a hat-trick of country wins and can be in the money here. ROCK ME OVER (10) has won four on end in easier company and can be placed. AUSSIE JET (2) has improved of late and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 6 5 10 2 Suggested Bet: MITCH MAGUIRE (6) to win. Race 4 SPEED MAN (2) won consecutive races before leading and being bloused out by Motu Premier last week. This looks an easier assignment and he should bounce back into the winners’ circle. BETTER B CHEVRON (7) won two on end in mares’ company before being held up when 2nd at this track She looks the obvious danger but the draw has done her no favours. MISTER VERSACE (8) led throughout for an effortless victory last week but faces a horror draw. KERRIN JOSEPH (3) is improving and won’t be far away. Tips: 2 7 8 3 Suggested Bet: SPEED MAN (2) to win. Race 5 CHICAGO BULL (7) has won all six starts this campaign against similar line-ups and it is hard to see him being beaten tonight. ROCK DIAMONDS (3) has good early speed and will be in the perfect spot to finish 2nd if he can cross at the start. RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (4) enjoyed not running into CHICAGO BULL (7) when an impressive winner last week but will be back to battling out for the minor money tonight. THE BUCKET LIST (2) has the draw to be a good place chance here. Tips: 7 3 4 2 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (7) to win. Race 6 JASON RULZ (1) arrived from NZ with a big reputation but has only managed to win one of his 19 starts in WA. He resumed from a long break with a fair 5th at Pinjarra and won’t find a better chance to win a metro event. BRAVO TEX (12) was a solid 3rd at his first run after a short break and should be fitter for that effort. FOREVER REMEMBERED (9) ran 4th to Chicago Bull in a considerably stronger field last start and her wide draw is offset by the drop in class. IM LISART (10) is drawn to get a perfect trail and could be the value runner. Tips: 1 12 9 10 Suggested Bet: IM LISART (10) each way. Race 7 THE STORM CHIEF (3) is in career best form, scoring an upset win over Scotlynn Beach before running on to finish 2nd to Benhope Rulz. There looks to plenty of pace in this event which would suit his sit-sprint style. TOUCH OF SUCCESS (5) had a few things go wrong when a beaten favourite here last week but would give them something to catch if he crosses at the start. BHAGWAN (1) also likes to lead and will give a sight if he can boot through and hold up. SUNROSE VILLAGE (2) is well drawn and was a good winner last start. Tips: 3 5 1 2 Suggested Bet: THE STORM CHIEF (3) each way. Race 8 TANAKA EAGLE (3) has been unplaced at his past 11 starts but he looks a good chance to find the front here and should give a great sight in that role. CYCLONE MITCH (2) was a fair 5th here last week and could be approaching his best form. ROBERT THE BRUCE (7) is better suited racing near the pegs but drops in class for this assignment and must be considered. IDEAL DIAMANTE (1) ran an improved race when 4th to Kerrin Jospeh last start and can play a part from the pole. Tips: 3 2 7 1 Suggested Bet: TANAKA EAGLE (3) to win. Race 9 SOHO CHANGELING (3) was less than 5m from IM STYLISH (10) when 3rd to that mare last start. She has good gate speed and is the best drawn of the main chances. IM STYLISH (10) led throughout to defeat Detroit Lily last week but has to overcome a back line draw tonight. ALFA QUEEN (8) has hit peak form and will give a great sight despite her wide draw. SHES TURBO CHARGED (7) is racing extremely well and will be suited by the likelihood of a solid tempo. Tips: 3 10 8 7 Suggested Bet: SHES TURBO CHARGED (7) each way. Race 10 MACHRIE (1) has finished just behind the placegetters at his three starts this campaign but gets his chance here. He was less than 3m from the winner in a similar event last week and has the draw to be the one to beat. KEEPER OF KEYS (3) was a fair 4th here two starts ago and can be in the finish on that effort. DAVINCI DIAMOND (10) is drawn to get a lovely run in transit and shouldn’t be far away. BURNING SHADOWS (4) is racing consistently and can be thereabouts in this moderate affair. Tips: 1 3 10 4 Suggested Bet: MACHRIE (1) to win. Market Market
