Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 27, 2022October 27, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 WHATABRO (1) led throughout to comfortably defeat a weaker field here last week and should give a great sight despite the rise in class. DOC HOLLIDAY (10) was held up when 3rd from this barrier last week and should be right in the finish again. FANCI A DANCE (11) ran on well when a close 2nd here last week and should play a part again. STAMFORD (9) is the class runner of the field but will need some luck in running to overcome his horror draw. Tips: 1 10 11 9 Suggested Bet: WHATABRO (1) to win. Race 2 FINVARRA (5) has been placed in 18 of his 19 career starts and impressed with a comfortable win over KNOW WHEN TO RUN (3) at his last start. He is drawn awkwardly but still appeals as the one to beat. ARMA EINSTEIN (1) has been racing well from bad draws including a last start win when he ran on from the rear to defeat Stamford. He has options at the start and should fight out the finish. KNOW WHEN TO RUN (3), is ready to show his best after being placed at his first two runs back from a spell. ELDAYTONA (6) led throughout here last week but will find it harder from this draw. Tips: 5 3 1 6 Suggested Bet: FINVARRA (5) to win. Race 3 SWINGBAND (6) has disappointed at his last two starts but is clearly the class runner of this field and will be very hard to beat if he can reproduce anything like his best. HOPPYS WAY (2) was a close-up 4th in the Western Gateway here last week and will be hard to catch if he finds the front. MR CHIP (9) is a newcomer with good NZ form who hasn’t trialled so monitor the betting. BEEN SCOOTIN (1) is an improving type who was a good Narrogin winner last start and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. Tips: 6 2 9 1 Suggested Bet: SWINGBAND (6) to win. Race 4 TENZING BROMAC (2) has won nine of his last ten starts and led throughout in 1.55.4 to record a comfortable victory here in September. He has had five weeks between runs but is clearly the one to beat from this draw. RASCAL (1) led throughout to win at last start and has options at the start tonight. RAGAZZO MACH (11) disappointed last time in but dashed home in a slick last 400m to win a recent Byford trial and should be in for a good campaign. MACHNIFICENT (12) sprinted brilliantly to win his last start and is always dangerous. Tips: 2 1 11 12 Suggested Bet: TENZING BROMAC (2) to win. Race 5 MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) is the state’s best pacer and he has been an impressive winner at both starts this time in. He is drawn poorly in a field with great depth but still appeals as the one to beat. DIEGO (1) led throughout here over this distance in 1.53.5 two starts back and will be hard to catch if he can reproduce that effort. LAVRA JOE (4) is the other class runner of the field and is a winning chance if he can get the right run in transit. GAMBIT (3) is racing well and will be hitting the line hard if they go hard up front. Tips: 7 1 4 3 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) to win. Race 6 ROBBIE ROCKET (5) finished his last campaign with a good win over Hillview Bondi and warmed up for this with a recent Byford trial victory. He always needs a bit of luck due to his sit-sprint racing style but he will be hard to hold out if he sees daylight at the right time. LITTLEBITOF FUN (1) has finished 2nd at his last two starts, both from this barrier, and should fight out the finish again. WESTERN ARTERRA (3) crossed to lead throughout from a wide draw two starts back and must be respected. MASTER LEIGHTON (2) can figure. Tips: 5 1 3 2 Suggested Bet: ROBBIE ROCKET (5) to win. Race 7 TAKING THE MIKI (1) had been battling bad draws but made the most of this barrier when winning the WA Oaks at her last start and should give a great sight even though she is taking on the older mares. SOVRANA (3) crossed from a wide draw when a close-up 4th in that event and will appreciate a better barrier and shorter trip here. THE AMBER HARE (12) and THREE RUMOURS (5) fought out the finish here three weeks ago and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 1 3 12 5 Suggested Bet: SOVRANA (3) each way. Race 8 MISTER FORTUNIA (1) was a solid winner from the breeze against weaker opposition last start and will be the one to beat if he can hold up at the start. MASTER PUBLISHER (4) got out too late when 2nd to Whatabro here last week and will appreciate the longer journey tonight. EUPHORIA (7) has been placed in eight of his past 12 starts and has the strength to overcome the wide draw. FIREROCKFIREROLL (9) has shown his fair share of ability in his three WA starts including a stand win here last week but is poorly drawn tonight. Tips: 1 4 7 9 Suggested Bet: MISTER FORTUNIA (1) to win. Race 9 MANNING (5) finished near the rear but hit the line nicely when a first-up 9th to Doc Holliday and appeals as the one to beat against this moderate line-up. TUAS DELIGHT (2) chased hard when 2nd to Rock Me Over here last week and will give a great sight if he can find the front here. MCARDLES GEM (3) hasn’t had much luck recently and will be running on if he sees daylight at the right time. CARRERA MACH (6) has only been placed in one of his past seven starts but is capable of surprising at big odds. Tips: 5 2 3 6 Suggested Bet: MANNING (5) to win. Race 10 TRICKY RIC (5) resumed with a solid victory over Birthday Suit and looks extremely hard to beat in this company if he trots throughout. CHUMANI (2) is a consistent trotter who ran a solid 2nd to Sky Eagle at his last start and should be thereabouts. MAJESTIC COURTNEY (7) led when 3rd to TRICKY RIC (5) at his last start and can be placed again. PEACHEE (9) was a good Pinjarra winner three starts back but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 5 2 7 9 Suggested Bet: TRICKY RIC (5) to win. Market Market
