Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 2, 2022June 2, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 LITTLE DARLING (5) ran a nice 3rd to Wonderful To Fly in the Diamond Classic before leading throughout at her last start and appeals as the one to beat. CATCH THE RED EYE (12) had to do too much work in the Diamond Classic but must be respected on her two wins before that event. MAKE YOUR MARK (2) has the speed to press for the early lead and will give them something to chase in that role. DONTBESILLYCHILLI (8) is racing well but the wide draw makes it tough. Tips: 5 12 2 8 Suggested Bet: LITTLE DARLING (5) to win. Race 2 MIDDLEPAGE (1) has been ultra-impressive in winning his last two starts but is likely to be crossed at the start and will need a little luck at some stage to get off the pegs to use his strength. MY PRAYER (3) has been racing consistently in stronger company and will appreciate the better draw tonight. OUR STAR WATCH (2) is a good chance to finds the pegs in the early stages and should be thereabouts if that does eventuate. EUPHORIA (10) is the other class runner of the field but has an awkward draw to overcome. Tips: 1 3 2 10 Suggested Bet: MIDDLEPAGE (1) to win. Race 3 IMAROCKABILLY REBEL (4) has only finished further back than 2nd in one of his past 11 starts. He couldn’t reel in ANGEL IN WHITE (1) here two starts but should settle closer in the run tonight and will be hard to hold out. FINVARRA (5) resumed with a comfortable victory and has the class to overcome his awkward draw. ANGEL IN WHITE (1) will lead and looks a great winning chance on her all-the-way victory two starts back. PRADASON (2) has won his last three on end but goes up in class tonight. Tips: 4 1 5 2 Suggested Bet: IMAROCKABILLY REBEL (4) to win. Race 4 DOUBLE UP (5) has gone to a new level this time in and will be hard to hold out if he gets the right cart into the race. JUMPINGJACKMAC (6) has won 12 of his 20 career starts and resumed with a 1.56.8 victory over the staying distance. He isn’t as well suited by over the sprint trip but should still fight out the finish. BORN TO BOOGIE (2) was a close-up 3rd here last week in a similar event and must be considered. TYLER BRETT (1) is suited by the sprint trip and has options at the start. Tips: 5 6 2 1 Suggested Bet: DOUBLE UP (5) to win. Race 5 BETTORS DESTROYA (4) has been placed in four of her past five starts in stronger company and looks the one to beat here. PATRIKIAR (1) led and ran 2nd in 1.58.1 here two starts back and a repeat performance will see her go close tonight. ALTAS ANGEL (10) was a strong 2nd in weaker company at her last start and should enjoy a nice run on the pegs. RUN FOR MERCY (5) is always dangerous with the right run but can’t do too much work in her races. Tips: 4 1 10 5 Suggested Bet: ALTAS ANGEL (10) each way. Race 6 TO FAST TO SERIOUS (6) drops considerably in class for this assignment and is clearly the one to beat but his racing style can make him vulnerable. ARMA EINSTEIN (2) is going from strength to strength and looks the obvious danger if he can find the front. CAVEMAN (5) goes up in class after recording his consecutive victories but his times indicate he will make his presence felt here. PIERRE WHITBY (1) is drawn to get a soft run off the speed and can be placed. Tips: 6 2 5 1 Suggested Bet: TO FAST TO SERIOUS (6) to win. Race 7 SOCRATES (2) won all four starts last campaign and resumed with a narrow but impressive Pinjarra win from the stand. He galloped out on that occasion but the experience should do him good and he is clearly the one to beat. STEAM PUNK (1) crosses the Nullabor with strong form so monitor the betting. GLENLEDI CHIEF (12) has impressed in winning three of his four starts this time in but will be giving his main rivals a head start. AMERICAN BULLITT (4) is in career best form and can be placed at odds. Tips: 2 1 12 4 Suggested Bet: SOCRATES (2) to win. Race 8 MARKHAM EYRE (8) has had two good all-the-way victories recently and a solid 2nd to Ezana in between those efforts. He is drawn wide here in a field with good depth but will give a great sight. MOONLIGHT DRIVE (6) impressed when breezing and running a strong 2nd here last week and looks a good each-way chance. SOUND WAVE (1) has the barrier advantage and is working up to his best form. COOL WATER PADDY (4) resumes here without a trial but has good Tasmanian form so monitor the betting. Tips: 8 6 1 4 Suggested Bet: MARKHAM EYRE (8) each way. Race 9 VESPA (3) is racing well despite only being placed once in his last five starts. He may have the gate speed to cross here and will be extremely hard to beat in that role. MATTJESTIC STAR (1) did lead throughout here in April and will give them something to catch if he can hold up. MEDIEVAL MAN (10) has finished near the rear at his three starts this time in but drops in class for this assignment and can play a part with some luck from this draw. MARQUISARD (2) will settle just behind the speed and can be placed. Tips: 3 1 10 2 Suggested Bet: MEDIEVAL MAN (10) each way. Race 10 BEAT CITY (2) ran a strong 2nd to Jack Farthing here last week and will be hard to catch if he can find the front tonight. IDEAL AGENT (3) won three on end before having to do too much work at his last start. He has the best form in the race and will give a great sight. TYPHOON BANNER (4) sat just behind the speed when finishing over the top of the two favourites at his last start and looks likely to enjoy a similar trip tonight. HEEZ OUR PERSEUS (5) ran on well to finish 3rd at big odds in that event and won’t be far away again. Tips: 2 3 4 5 Suggested Bet: BEAT CITY (2) to win. Market Market
