Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 16, 2026June 16, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 DAWSON SHARD (2) gets a wonderful chance to break through; he’s got decent gate speed and should be able to work through to the lead and from there it’s hard to see them get past him in this. GAMETIME (8) battled out a trial win and has shown decent ability in the past, likely improver in this. CARMELA DOMENICA (1) ideally drawn and can stick on and be a place chance. STRAYLYA (5) and IM DRINKINDOUBLES (6) are both capable and should be around the mark in this. Tips: 2 8 6 1 Suggested Bet: DAWSON SHARD (2) to win. Race 2 MISS VINCENZA (3) strikes a suitable race on return and looks to work to the lead and from there it should be game over, being first up is my only concern because the class suits. SMOKEYS SHADOW (9) is racing strongly, got home well on Saturday night which backed up a good trial and he’s holding good consistency. DANGER (1) ideally drawn but isn’t the quickest beginner, if he is leaders back, he will earn. SONIC CHIP (6) and APOLOGIZE (8) are both novelty chances from their tricky draws. Tips: 3 1 9 6 Suggested Bet: MISS VINCENZA (3) to win. Race 3 JOEY JAMES (6) was fantastic last time out, he’s never been a breeze horse and for him to stick on like he did in good time really put the writing on the wall for a win, hard to hold out off the back of that last run. FOLLOW MY STRIDE (1) is a major top two player if she can hold up early and then has options, she really mixes her gate speed but isn’t the quickest front line outside of her so should settle close. ON THE BACK FOOT (8) is racing well enough but will have to make a run from the rear. QUEEN OF ALL (9) is a moody mare but capable in this grade and can do some of her dirty work. TUX AND TAILS (3) is a chance if he could ping out but is also a bit of a mixed bag with early speed. VYBRANT (2) is racing consistently but early speed is moderate. AMERICAN MONARCH (7) will be running on. Tips: 6 1 8 3 Suggested Bet: JOEY JAMES (6) to win. Race 4 LORD PUBLISHER (2) is racing well and has the draw to work to the lead, was a winner last time out and no reason he can’t win again, go close. BOUJEE BOY (7) will roll forward and was a big winner last time out, this time he may have to do it from the breeze but will be right in the thick of it. POPPYONTHEBEACH (6) is suited in this grade and should settle close enough and will be dangerous. GOGGINS (1) is a nice chance to place from the draw, racing well enough to sit on speed. CHARIVARI (11) not racing at his best but still good enough to fill the placings with TWOBOB CRACKER (12). WHEN IN VEGAS (8) looks awkwardly placed from the outside draw, map is very tricky. Tips: 2 6 7 1 Suggested Bet: LORD PUBLISHER (2) to win. Race 5 MUNROES MATE (8) is a quick beginner who was taken back in his WA debut, and it wasn’t a pretty watch as he looked gangly and awkward, think he can charge the arm and be a big chance to cross here and looks hard to beat. WICKED HUSTLER (2) comes into the perfect draw and has the speed to be handy enough to them and should run a bold race. LOU LAMOUR (4) will charge forward and was hell bent on leading last time out, interesting to see how things unfold this time around, but his effort was large. KINKY (3) is a capable type but lacks the early dash and may have to breeze at some stage. FULL SWING DENARIO (9) will be running on well, consistent performer. Tips: 8 2 4 3 Suggested Bet: MUNROES MATE (8) to win. Race 6 BY GEE BY JINGO (7) is knocking on the door, had no luck again last start but do believe he could sit nearly anywhere in this and rip home and finish over the top, very hard to hold out. CHIEF COPY (3) could roll forward and look for the top, good front running type if he can get there and same story for GALVINSTON JOHN (5). FIORD (4) lacks early speed but has come back well, should get clear air on the way home and be running on strongly. ELEGANT EAGLE (6) is capable of better and with a handy stable. Tips: 7 4 3 5 Suggested Bet: BY GEE BY JINGO (7) to win. Race 7 BETTOR BE BUCKS (2) was a solid effort on Saturday in her first run for Giles Inwood, ran through the line powerfully racing outside of her grade, suited here and very hard to beat for mine. LADY OF LEITH (1) will lead and give them something to chase, suited to the distance and will be hard to run down but will go close. PAPPINBARRA LADY (4) and MARGIMAC (8) both capable of running in the money and PURELY PANDEMIC (3) could improve and should be close enough. Tips: 2 1 4 8 Suggested Bet: LADY OF LEITH/BETTOR BE BUCKS to Quinella. Race 8 SUGA (7) looks a talent with a big win on debut in brilliant time at Narrogin, comes in fresh but Justin Prentice doesn’t race his horses unless they are ready so therefore confidence is high on a bold performance. DROP THE ACE (1) will run a bold race from the draw over the mile, should lead and give them something to chase. THE SEA SIREN (5) will be up on speed and run well in this, first up run for the new stable. IDEAL DIAMOND (6) will be running on but has been a touch disappointing since returning and THE SLIPPERY DIP (2) drawn to get a good run. Tips: 7 1 5 2 Suggested Bet: SUGA (7) to win. Market Market
